Best Phone For Calling and Texting Only

So what is the best phone for a high school student for just texting and calling? No internet needed.

I would probably go for a Samsung Messager Touch or an LG Mistique.

Good phone. I'd imagine that it wasn't mentioned because the OP specified texting for a teen. Individual preferences would determine QWERTY vs T9/iTap/etc.

I think that a QWERTY keyboard would be better but I wonder about a slide out keyboard. How durable are they? I think the wine 2 is not happening. So who likes a touch screen keyboard vs slide out keyboard? Or visa versa. I guess that s the real question.

If you need a phone in the very near future, I would also say either the LG Mystique or the Samsung Messager.

I like my Mystique. I also have an ipod touch and prefer a physical keyboard. The keys on the Mystique make a slight popping sound and they're somewhat close together, but I'm used to it now. I went with the Mystique because it felt more solid and I had an LG before this phone so I was used to the software. So far the phone has held up to numerous drops and I like the interface. I'm surprisingly happy with the camera that can take forward-facing pictures as well as regular outward-facing. Cameras were never a big ticket item for a phone for me, but it's a nice feature.

I liked the keyboard layout of the Messager better, but it felt a little more flimsy to me and typically Samsung software doesn't get good reviews. I think it would be fine though. Hope that helps.

Personally if I had to chose any dumbphone we currently offer it would have to be the Mystique. The Crush is awful and Samsungs Get poor reception and the resistive touch screen on Samsungs blow.

why hasn't anyone mentioned the Freeform? it's a pretty solid phone, not real feature heavy but great for calling/texting. and it has a great price right now. (40 bucks! NO REBATE NECESSARY)

Too bad you don't want the internet...The Bliss is $29.95 INSTANT! Great price for a phone that was 110 couple weeks ago.
