LG-300G: is it possible do disable annoying "minute deducted" on new text read?

I'm happy with my Net10 LG-300G. It's nice having a tiny light phone. I was able to turn off the minute display on the main screen but I can't figure out how to disable the "0.5 minutes deducted" when reading every single new text message. It's kind of annoying because it slows everything down. Any way to turn it off? Tried googling here but didn't hit anything...

That's the way it's programmed. It reports all that so you know what's going on and there are no misunderstandings about where all your minutes have gone. Especially since you have the minute display turned off.

That is unfortunate. It's probably enough to push me off to Straight Talk or similar. I wonder if all the phones on Net10 are like that?

Try what I do: rapidly hitting "Ok" twice when reading messages. I should also say that is on the 290c. Hopefully it is the same on your Trac. After a while it became second nature to me.

Yes, Net10 is the same way...
