and when you say esn, you mean the serial number on the straight talk phone correct.

I've been told you don't need a PIN. I just ported from Straight Talk to Verizon.
Account number was as before - phone's serial number. No password at all. Port went through no problem.
glad I found this thread now I can port my number with confidence that it will not be delayed due to mismatch of information.
