Be as exact as you can...how did you accomplish this? No detail is too trivial.
I tried the same thing with two unlocked HTC phones, and it didn't work.

I just bought a LG 620G and I had an old unlocked cell phone laying around. I wanted to see if I was able to take my Straight Talk SIM and put it the unlocked phone to make calls. Turns out I can.
Has anyone been able to do this with other unlocked phones?

well maybe it cant be a smart phone lol
I also have an unlocked Sciphone i68 (smart(er) phone) that I'll try tonight.
You do run the risk of ST catching on to what you are doing. In retaliation they could kill your ST phone and keep the remainder of your 30 days with no reimbursment for anything. Just know there is the potential risk.
just tried my wifes 620g sim card in a razr and nokia supernova, neither are smartphones, neither work.
did you put the sim in the phone from the BEGINNING? or did you activate the sim on the 620g then move it?
Update:
I just tried the Straight Talk SIM in my unlocked Sciphone i68+ and it didn't work. The Sciphone is a Quadband GSM phone.
Also, the Nokia 1208 which worked used to be a TracPhone model I think. Maybe this has something do with it?
If it was a tracfone it has everything to do with it.
Sim card from my lg 620g does not work in any unlocked phone I have. (Samsung, Nokia, Pantech or a motorola)
Hmm. The Tracfone thing might be the issue. Tracfones are near impossible to COMPLETELY unlock (unless you're a phone trafficker). Usually you end up destroying the "airtank" firmware probably.
Straight Talk cdma phones can be used on other Verizon mvnos. I find it hilarious that such an open standard like gsm is even more locked down then cdma on any Tracfone/America Movil network.
Until we report some success, I guess it's just keep trying.
My guess is that the sim is designed to be locked to only America Movil phones and won't work in any other type. Maybe it would work on an unlocked Net10 phone as well. But then again, they have Net10 unlimited, so what's the point except coverage.
hey guys just makes me wonder if you can buy a second straighttalk phone to see if you can use the sims card in it, i may do that today, if so ill post back the results.
[SIZE="5"]well i bought a second gsm lg 420 to see if i could use my lg 620 sim in it, and dang it ! didnt work
This is interesting. I do have some cheapie old AT&T and T-Mobile phones laying around here, but no ST service otherwise I would give it a shot myself.
I do have a Nokia 1208 T-Mobile model and some 2610's, 6030's, etc.
