I have unlocked Samsung T459G phone(I unlocked it myself) and know it was unlocked because I was able to take to EU and get a sim card over there and it worked. My question, will this one work on ST network? I know it was designed with T-mobile network.

I do have a phone on ST, a LG620G. Would that sim card work in there?

If it is unlocked then it will work, but you will only get Edge speeds.....no 3G for T-mobile.....different frequency. These particular ST cards use the ATT network.

Isn't it a fact that the SIM card from any Straight Talk phone other than the three Nokia smartphones will only work in the specific Straight Talk phone with which it was activated?

Oh crap. Yeah...you're right. Missed the part where he said which phone he was using. Obviously the OP didn't read the first post. Only the following Straight Talk phones work with this.....Nokia E71, Nokia 6790, and the Nokia E5. ALL other Straight Talk SIM cards are locked to the phone they came with. This has been covered quite a few times, with the E5 being a recent addition to the list.

Does edge pertain to data only? Will calls go through on att & tmobile towers and will you be able to roam?

I really like the vibrant but want good coverage. I dont like the captivate. I would do an htc if I had to do att.

This would primarily affect data, yes. Picture messaging would be slowed as well. You would not be able to roam onto a 3G network, however edge should be available for calling and texting in most areas.

On ATT phones, yes, 3G would work.....it actually HSDPA.....ATT's "4G".....so more like 3.5G..... .......works well on my Inspire. I top out at 7mbps down, 1.25 mbps up on Speedtest. Depends on your coverage in you area of course, but if ATT gets fast speeds where you are at then so should an ATT phone with an E71 SIM. My service is comparable with everyone I know on ATT.

The earlier iPhones will be a bit slower of course....they aren't capable of those speeds. An iPhone 4 would be though.
