    BlackBerry 9100 Price Confirmed

The Pearl 9100 will be sold for $320 by Wind. Not a bad price point. It should arrive in time for people to take advantage of the $20 credit. Should be out in a couple of days from my assumptions. Still no confirmed launch date. The Motorola XT720 should follow right after so we might see a mid-sept launch for the device.

Good to see Wind releasing some phones soon with the competition heating up... But I really hope the XT720 comes out before September so I can give it a try!

I was hoping the Pearl would be closer to $300. That's a shame but I'm glad they are finally releasing it.

Just around where I was hoping it would be priced. Now I can't wait to buy the damn thing and get rid of my Huawei "whateverstupidnumbertheynamedit" POS phone.

well, if it is out in time to take advantage of the $20 rebate, then it would be $300..

but to me, if you're willing to drop 3 bills on a phone, an extra $20 won't make or break the deal..

I'm waqnting to switch to Wind, bring two lines - if this launches after the data deal I'm going to be really choked.

I don't think i would pay $300 for the Blackberry 9100 when the XT720 will likely be around 350-400, but that's just my opinion. Wind needs to release one of these phones before school begins which is around September 7th (which i believe is the first day of school) to take advantage of the back to school season.

Can you use the Social Mobile data plan with Blackberries or does it have to be Social Blackberry? I would much rather have the 50mb. If so then I think the Pearl is for me when I get coverage.

I don't think it is possible, Blackberrys's need "service books" in order to work and control most of data that goes in and out of them

I don't know why Wind doesn't offer a BB email plan too similar to how other carriers do it. Priced at the same price as the Social plan, but only gives you access to email. I think a lot more people would jump on that.

That sucks. I don't give a crap about the social networking. I want emailing and a bit of web browsing. 50mb of data on a Blackberry goes a long way.

I know what you mean, as it is now not even over Wi-Fi e-mail gets thru to blackberry's with the social blackberry plan of Wind (unless it comes from FB or myspace) however the $20 (charged plan) is not that bad for light/medium use.
