Bell site has a whole section on how to setup foreign phone.
Here it is for the Nexus One: http://support.bell.ca/en-qc/Mobilit...y_HSPA_network

If your nexus one is running the latest firmware, it should be able to detect the apn settings automatically if you start your phone from new.

Cool did not know that, yes I have the latest froyo on it, previously I had a few Nokia's and when ever I put in a new SIM they would detect all the settings for me, its nice to know this is done on the Nexus as well,

again thanks for all the help

So I got everything transferred over no issues, switched two lines, one for voice only for the wife Nokia E71, but for the Nexus i have a couple of questions,

as on the above post by Urself25 I went to the link provided and followed the instructions to create a new APN no problem there,
as on the above post by Dro once you put the new Bell SIM it will create an APN automatically, great it did no issues, but the settings on the automatic created APN are very basic there are only settings for the Name, APN, MMSC, MCC, APN Type but for the one I created there are settings for almost all fields like MMS APN, Proxy etc, I have not tried the one I created I have been using the one created Automatically,

which one should I use ? is there a difference ? as long as i can surf which I already did, receive Gmail already did and tether to a laptop or iPad which I have not tried, any suggestions on which profile to use ?

    thanks

I am not sure what the difference is. Personally I have tried both and the internet speeds are pretty much the same to me. I don't see the need for the proxy setting if the internet works. Does Bell allow tethering? I haven't really tried it because I don't want to get charged per use.

When I got the plan I was told yes tethering was included, after I got everything running I called Bell and asked if tethering was included and she checked and said yes, I also asked for a data block on my other line the wife uses a Nokia E71 she does not want data and the Bell rep put the data block on , the next day I got an email from Bell advising me a data block had been put on that line I asked, so far I am very happy with bell, I have been with Fido for over 12 years lol. One huge difference I have found with the Nexus on Bell I now have very I mean very good battery life, before on Fido I could barely go a full day on a single battery, now on Bell and my pattern have not changed I get a full day and at night it still has close to half life, I think this is to getting better signal coverage.
