Account balances never transfer. Companies don't move monies between companies for customers. Any money you have on your current account is lost when you move your service to another provider.

Is the phone going to always use up the data connection? Is there a way to turn it off and only use wifi?
from my experience with the droids, 3g will be always on as a standard. I only know of 2 ways shut it off. first is using a app called GT data widget from the market, this free app is the only one that actually let me toggle data on and off with no problems. Second way is to update your droid to android 2.2 which has a option to turn of data under wireless &network settings.
You can port your number but you will loose your Boost balance (two different companies). I have read on here if you activate a phone on PP and then later port your number to PP you will lose your current balance on PP.
My Devour is using data, even though I have turned off background data. I am using about $0.40 per day. I am going to try downloading the GT data widget to see if I can shut it off completely. I am in a wifi range almost all day.

This is correct. Again it goes back to the fact the money/account stays with the phone number. If you activate a device on Page Plus (and really just about anyone) with a new number...you add money to the "account" or "the number" for use. Then later you decide to port over an old number. Your money doesn't go to the new device, but stays with the phone number, even if that phone number is now associated with a "dummy" ESN. It sits in limbo, the money that is until the end of the 120 days for that particular number which was originally activated and on which an account was set up.
If you turn off data after upgrading to 2.2, i.e. using the factory provided toggle option, then everything else will work except 3G data, which means talk, text and wifi will work, but mms won't.
And yes, their website works.
I activated a Droid several months ago. A few days ago, I activated a Palm Treo and an LG VX. Both activated just fine, and the minutes went on them fine.
There is a ban on Blackberries, not on smart phones. You cannot use a blackberry (or former prepaid, of course) on PPC.
hey guys..i got a choice to buy a lg ally for $100 or a htc pro for $100...which is better and can their software be updated to 2.2..somebody let meno...thanks..
I activated a Droid Eris on Saturday. ESN change through CS. Very quick and easy. The Eris has a data toggle, and I have used it for everything but over the air data so far. Wireless at home and work works great! I plan to use the evdo data only as needed. Running stock 2.1 and stock browser. So far I have seen no need to change either. Everything worked fine out of the box with OTA activation. Paid $134 on ebay. Checked MEID with CS before paying. This is a sweet phone. I previously had my old LG VX8300 that I did data provision on. That is a good basic phone but no wifi and crummy wap browser.
Cool! I also want to use data only when necessary. I have wifi at home, and a lot of places have free wifi now, so really no need to have it on all the time.
I had a Droid Eris on Page Plus for about 3 months and Now Im running an Omnia II on Page plus. OTA Programming went flawlessly and everything is working Great. Just have to make sure and Watch the Data Usage Though. 50 MB Dosent go very far on a smartphone. Hurry up with the Unlimited Data Upgrade PP
