    Anyone having mic / audio problems with any of the Samsung Galaxy S handsets?

    Daniel from Nimbuzz here.

    On our blog, we have received feedback about people not being able to make VoIP calls on the Samsung Galaxy S phones due to mic or audio problems. With Nimbuzz or Skype using Nimbuzz. (version Nimbuzz 2.0 for Android)

    Either way, they can't hear the person or the person on the other side can't hear anything.

    As you can see, we are trying to gather as much information as possible in order to figure out and solve any issue.

    But, I wanted to ask if anyone has experienced similar problems with any of the new Samsung Galaxy S devices?

    Have you been able to make calls over the internet without any quality, hardware or software issues?

    Appreciate any feedback.

    We have created two test versions already with fixes. (Please let me know if you are interested in trying them out)

    Samsung Galaxy S user here, this exact problem was experienced today on the latest release of Nimbuzz available through Android Market.

    On Wifi connection I was able to make a single VOIP call on Skype without any problems approx. 18 hours ago that lasted for 5 minutes (as it was merely a test to see if the new handset could handle it as well as my N900 does). On HSDPA however, the call was placed through Skype VOIP to the same cell number as the call that was successfully placed on Wifi, I could not hear them and they could not hear me.

    They called me back on my Skype username for a Skype to Skype call through Nimbuzz, the same issue. No sound, neither of us could hear each other...nothing but dead air.

    I'm interested in trying the test version, I have nothing to lose - are you able to send it to me via PM?

    Sorry, it's not letting me edit my post - I forgot to add I'm using Nimbuzz V2.0.0 Build 7981.8052 on a Samsung Galaxy S. running 2.1-update1 Build Eclair.

    The link you sent me won't work - it started to download the app on the android, got to 40% then froze up. When I rebooted the phone and went back to the link, it now just says "page not available". Has it been taken down?

    Did you try the last one I sent you? It should work. I shared it with some others as well and it worked for them.

    Make sure to go into your settings and delete the old version if you still have it.

    I did make sure to delete it before I tried to download your version, I was only able to access your file approx. 4 hours ago.

    The extremely loud volume issue is still happening, which is very annoying and can be embarassing when you're in public and everyone can hear your phone blaring when there is nothing you can do to lower the volume, with your updated version that you sent me to test, I can hear them and they can hear me but there is a lag of approximately 30 seconds involved which makes the service as good as unusable even if we can hear each other.

    This was tested on 3G and Wifi, both experienced the lagging issue and the blaring volume.

    We are already working on the loud volume - I will send you the latest update once we have it.

    My new Samsung Gt I8150 has the same problem on nimbuzz, no outgoing voice.

    Hi,

    i was very happy to see this forum.
    as my new samsung Gt I8150 has the same problem, whenever i'm making nimbuzz calls. incoming voice is ok, but outgoing voice is the problem. and after that my speaker is going mute mode, only when i make one normal call in speaker mode it would get normal.

    We are already alive on the loud aggregate - I will forward you the latest amend already we accept it. Acknowledgment for absolution me apperceive about the cessation problem. I'll accomplish abiding to address this ASAP. acknowledgment afresh for all your advice with this.

    i use galaxy s and the problem is when making voip call the person at other end cant hear me at all but i hear them very well.need help

    These sort of problems occur when you use non branded hand-free for continuous basis which cause bad effect on phone set, So I think this is the problem but I can be wrong with my opinion.
    ..........Life is boring without android...................

    I never used any hand-free except the one provided with my galaxy

    Thanks for the reply. I never used any other hand-free. I always used the one provided with my samsung galaxy
