    iPhone 3G 3.1.3 baseband 5.13.04

I put my Chatr sim card in and my iPhone is telling me the network is restricted however my Fido sim card works flawlessly. I am at a lost right now as to why it will not work. I have tried restoring and rejailbreaking but that does not seem to work.

    Please help.

This simply means that the phone is not unlocked.

Try using Redsn0w and Ultrasn0w. Works every time for me even with the newest 4.02 firmwares on iPhone 3G.

I figured it out, turns out you need to activate the sim card first before it will authorize in the phone.

If Redsn0w was used to jailbreak, it would not have been necessary to activate the sim card. Using the redsn0w/ultrasn0w combination, sim cards work in the iPhone 3G as soon as it is inserted.
