Hey guys quick question. I managed to get a great plan but I had to go through the OOP. I was offered something way back but then they wouldnt give it to me. I ended up escalating and after hours of phone calls finally they had all the credits on the account. My plan is as follows:
$17.50 for 200 daytime (+ 100 bonus) ultmd eve and weekend from 6
unlimited incoming $10 - $10 credit
$25 - $10 data credit for 500 mb
$10 value pack
- $15 monthly fee discount
=====
$27.50 + tax + GRF
The problem is, the office of president said they $15 monthly fee discount could drop off at anytime if it gets audited.
Now because this was the case, they told me I can decrease the length of my contract from newly renegotiated 2013 expiry back to what it was at before I negotiated the plan. Therefore, my contract would expire with the above plan in 2011.
Now my question is, should I do it? Go back to expiring this year with this plan? Would I have problems renewing my contract later this year for 3 years since this plan is basically impossible to get? Im just afraid that in one year into my contract suddenly Ill lose my discount and wont be happy with the plan since its not what we negotiated.
So basically my options are to keep this plan for 3 years knowing that the MFD could disappear at any time, or to allow it to expire in less than 1 year and then renegotiate at that point. Whats the best option? thanks
What are the expiries on the discounts? Hard to help you without knowing this.
Whatever you decide, just keep in mind that your amazing plan will definitely expire after the contract term is over - you are very very unlikely to get a rep that will renew your discounts for you.
Generally, they won't give you discounts greater then 50% of your plan price. To get the $15 discount, did you remove some features or anything tricky? Having that $15 be a $10 discount would be a more believable plan.
You might be able to get the 1yr, but with 3yr credit expiries; then you can just be month-to-month.
BTW, this isn't really the right thread for this discussion I don't think.
This is what I just got offered: 300 Minutes daytime, unlimited incoming, unlimited network, 6pm evenings and weekends, cid, vm, call forwarding, 2500 texts, incoming texts free and 1 Gig of data for $49.93. I have 2 years left on contract, thy want me to extend it to 3.

SO you renegotiated and got a new phone.
Now u can basicly get out of your contract AND get a new phone?
Well look at it this way. How much can u sell the phone for? Now u will get a 10$ credit instead of 15. So 5 a month u could loose for a possible 2 years...
I say take the 1 year deal and get a phone. selll it.

A great plan; I would definitely take it. That's nearly identical to my plan (which took about 5 retentions calls over several months to build), except I have the 6GB data which isn't available right now.
Hi guys, I have a family plan with 6 lines with a very good retention plan that I have been building over several months.
This is my questions:
- My family plan expires on October of 2012, but some of my credits/discount will expire in June of this year. Will I be able to call to extend my credit to the end of the contract? I am willing to renew my contract for another three years but I want to get new phones but the last HUP was done on October 2009. do you think I can HUP all my lines and also extend the credits/discounts?

Not a bad set of plans; I'm sure you could do better with the last 2 Android phones tho - you should be getting at least $10 data discount, or the my5 CanadaWide for free (I'd keep working on those plans till you get both - use a 3yr contract as a bargaining chip to make those plans "match other competitors offers" and renew all other discounts). Also, you could certainly get Unlimited Incoming or Unlimited Networking Calling + LD added for free (consider, if you can't get them to discount my5 canada wide, if UNL INC / UNC+LD would replace them for your usage).
Getting your credits extended shouldn't be any problem - Reps will almost always extend or renew existing or past credits without issue. Having so many lines also gives you a fair bit of 'threatening to cancel' power - only the worse ret rep is going to let someone with 5 lines walk away because they didn't renew a few pre-existing discounts (they can't get in trouble for doing something that was done before, now can they?).
As a general rule about HUP - you don't even need to discuss this with retentions. You can sign a 3year contract with retentions, and then the next day go into a Rogers Plus store and sign another 3yr contract for a HUP. It's all based on the last HUP date, not existing contract. (I've had multiple reps confirm this in past conversations) If you are going to discuss HUP with a retentions rep, do it absolutely last thing.

Good luck!
Thank you very much, I really apreciate your advice, I will call and see what else I can get, as you say I have a good "threatening power" to cancel so many lines.
that is a great plan. Rogers does not offer the 6gb for 30$ like fido does atm, but im sure once the 6gb is available you can upgrade it. My plan with fido is kinda like yours but i get no unl incoming and only 200 minutes. i would keep what they offered you.
Fido plan:
200 /Unl. E / WE + F2F/
2500txt/enhanced voice mail $25
Call Display $7 - $7 CREDIT
5 p.m Early Evenings $0 given as a gift for new activation
Fido to Fido/Rogers option $10 -$10 CREDIT
6gb Data $30
$5 CREDIT for 3 years
Total = 25+7+10+30 = 72 - 7 - 10 - 5 = $50 - 15% BC bundle discount = $42.50 plus taxes

Your plan is actually pretty good, its way cheaper than mine.
35$ City Fido Unlimited Local Calling
10$ iPhone Value pack(Visual Voicemail, Caller ID)
30$ 6GB data plan
10$ credit for the 6GB data plan
10$ credit for the monthly plan
10$ credit for iPhone Value Pack
Total = 45$ + tax no SAF or 911
No Contract
