Canadian and US LD, no US roaming though.
I was offered it in September 2010 when I called into Customer Relations.
Has anyone been successful in re-signing a contract, renewing their credits and HUPing to a new devices lately?
Reading some other members are HUPing for a new devices and losing all their credits, even when things were promised.
Unlimited Local Calling - $35 (ongoing $10 cr, originally $45)
Unlimited Canada/US Calling - $10 (ongoing $10 cr, originally $20)
6GB Data (LTE + 3G) - $25 (ongoing $5 cr, originally $30)
Value Pack (VM, CD, RingTunes) - $8 (ongoing $4 cr, originally $12)
$89.99 after taxes and Gov Fee in BC, $80.35 before taxes - almost $30 in cr's that will stick for as long as I have the plan.
Rogers is great, paying under $90 for what I have really comes in handy, best of all - it's been barely a year since I originally signed up with Rogers. I'm a keeper for life, oh and I also scored a new Galaxy Nexus back in Mid January from Retention for $99 on a 3yr HUP... Scored BIG TIME!
Phone: Samsung Galaxy SIII i747M - CyanogenMod10 IceCreamSandwich 4.1.2.

Some dark times we have coming, thanks to our new LTE networks
Things were really nice starting in 2007 - 2008 with those somewhat "fair" retention plans back then and now things are so nickel and dime pinching, w/ zero discount & credits or waiving any type of fees for being loyal to Rogers.
Yup. I actually found around 2010 was the best time for retentions as they were completely panicked about the new carriers. Then Nadir recognized that the newbs weren't the immediate threat they thought they would be and clamped down hard on retentions. I think he thought, "well if people aren't leaving en masses with these crazy intro offers, they won't leave at all, so let's act with that assumption and gut the retentions dept". The problem is that a) their retail offers stayed just as inferior and b) their main competitors decided this was a good opportunity to try to grab some market share. Bell and Telus and their subs are growing and growing and Rogers numbers have stalled. Acting as though one is entitled to retain long time customers without any incentive is a bit arrogant and a good way to watch them defect to other providers. I think he honestly bought into the 'too big to fail' line of thought. Nadir's strategy will probably be taught in business schools one day as a cautionary tale, "how to run an established national brand into the ground".

The biggest trap of them all was the iPhone 4 launch, which almost everyone can HUP and re-sign their contract and then mid way through (meaning present time) lay down all the policy changes!
Speaking of the iPhone 4 launch, I got some inside info and posted it up to help everyone ... then everyone called me bluff.
Still scratching my head as of today of why ppl wouldn't trust this info

I wouldn't exactly call the Nexus a 'score'. If anything I'd say it's an insult. The fact that it was nearly 2 years since launch before Rogers released it is....nothing but the usual slap in the face. Okay wasn't 2 years...but in wireless....it may as well be.
$90 is shocking., considering I used to get retention plans for a LOT less. I'm sure if you have no choice (are not restricted to the mobi/wind calling zones) this is as good as it gets...or is it? Have you looked at what Bell & Telus are offering in the field of these Uber Power Slugger plans?

You must be kidding, scoring a new device a week after launch on Rogers from Retentions, Galaxy Nexus might as well be 2 years old? You're kidding? I'm not one to get a new device every 3 months like you, I suppose.
$90 including taxes isn't good?
I pay $40 for my WIND plan once im in a WIND zone, but paying almost $50 after taxes for limited coverage, horrible speed(see my posts in the WIND forum regarding horrible download speeds), I think I scored a great package.
Sure, some individuals might be content with paying $30 for limited minutes and 500MB of data, but I'm a heavy user as I reach 3-5GB a month without even trying.
And as far as you scoring lower priced retention offers, great. I've been with Rogers for barely a year and their already throwing me all these discounts. It keeps me happy, and once WIND can smarten up with their coverage/data speeds I'm sure I'll go back to WIND fulltime. Til than, Rogers it is.
$90\month is utterly terrible. I would never pay over $55 taxes in for what is (to me) basically unlimited usage. And 5gb is a minimum reasonable cap. So yes... $90/month and an over priced slightly old phone is awful - at least imo. I wouldn't take a 3 year contract for a gnexus if you paid me a $99 bonus! (well... Okay, i might,on my $12 line so i could sell the phone and get free service)
You're kidding, you're telling me you have a better plan than I do? with UNLIMITED calling? Not 500m daytime with unlimited wknd/nts... I haven't seen a similar plan as mine for under $80. Keep in mind I'm a NEW Rogers subscriber. Let's see what you have been offered? And don't tell me you're paying $55 for what I have cause I won't buy it, maybe it's possible if you've been with Rogers for 5, maybe 10+ yrs.
Retention doesn't have the option of throwing you a plan with 90% off.
It's great that you are happy with what you got, but it really isn't anything special. I pay $53 for about the same as you have (without ringtunes and I use Google Voice for better voicemail). I know at least one other Rogers customer that got it all for $50. For the same features and coverage, you will pay > $1300 (>$1500 with taxes) more than I would over 3 years.
The main reasons people don't find your plan all that interesting is that it wasn't too long ago that one could get much better through retentions and you can still get better though other carriers. Also, you seemed very excited that they gave you the Nexus for $99 on a three year, yet at retail, they are offering it for $75 on a three year, so you actually negotiated to pay more than retail for the nexus. Starting to see why, while you may be excited by the offer, it isn't going to seem all that impressive to others?
Also, I would suggest that you review your first few invoices. Rogers has a habit of making offers that they don't honour. You particular offer includes a couple credits that are not allowed, which will trigger an audit and their 'revenue assurance' dept may try to remove them (with telling you). Your $35 voice plan and the 6GB data are not allowed credits these days, so you'll want to verify they don't disappear.
