I just work out a deal with retention last week and they gave me the same plan but for $56 total (1000LD though). I thought i got a pretty good deal and was pretty pleased with it. But your price just blows my mind.... Teach me "see fu"
That's actually a really good deal! A lot of my friends aren't getting that price point. I got lucky with some miscommunication between reps a long time ago and the fact that my $0 UL option didn't get taken off from my old plan (so I was able to get rid of the $10 option and keep it). That said, I just remain polite in every conversation and rarely call them. I probably won't need to call them again for another 2 years unless something comes up.

No, you're actually on a cheaper value pack than most, the new iphone vps are $20. If it's the one I'm thinking of, yours probably has a certain amount of texts included but no mms, because the original iPhone didn't picture message.

Well the data and monthly credits expire in 3 years so I'll have to call them to extend when doing a HUP =P

Yeah, I am actually with Fido, but I am going to be calling in to Rogers today for a friend. VVM is something he really wants to keep and I noticed that he has a $15 iPhone VP that I think includes VVM, unlimited SMS/MMS and CID w/ Name Display. He doesn't MMS at all and does limited texting, so I was wondering if Rogers retentions had a similar VP to the $10 Fido VP that has VVM & CID (no SMS or MMS). Looking it over, the $15 VP from Rogers is pretty good compared to Fido since it includes the SMS instead of having to add it on. Hopefully he can get a credit anyway. Just was wondering what the options were so I know before the call.

Is 1-866-304-4248 still the direct line for Rogers Retentions? The lady I got was pretty tough. She basically offered the $17.50 plan and he keeps his data and iPhone VP as is, plus 100 Canadian LD. Outside of the LD being included (as a feature credit?) she wouldn't budge on the price at all, not even data credit or one of the cheaper options added and credited (My5, unlimited incoming, network calling with LD). I am wondering is she was CSR or retentions. She didn't really say. Seems reasonable to expect to get $10 off somewhere and have one additional feature added (My5, R2R nationwide, Unlimited incoming or 100 extra minutes). The offer reduces his fee by $14, but $5 of that comes from switching to the GRRF. For someone who, with overages, has been paying ~$100/month and pays $300/month overall to Rogers for all his services, expecting better doesn't seem unreasonable.

meh. Got them to throw in a $5 on the data and 10% for his Better Choice Bundles. So, he ends up with:
    $17.50 200DT, E/W @6
$15 iPhone value pack (VVW, CID, 2500 SMS/MMS)
    $30 6GB
-$5 100 Canadian Long Distance (credited)
    -$5 data credit
    $2.68 GRRF
    =$60.08
-10% off wireless better choice bundle
    = $54.07 + tax

Not a great plan, but it saves him about $23/month in plan fees and should prevent about $20 in monthly LD charges. Also got him 30%/20% for first and second year on cable and internet so total savings of almost $1800 after 2 years on all his Rogers services.

Push for 30% the first year on a 2 year commitment. They'll give you the 20% for the second.

    Just got:
$50 Unltd Voice & Text Plan - Unltd Local Calling Minutes, Unl. Can & U.S text messages, Unlimited Canada/US LD Calling
$40 1 GB CDN&US Data - Less $10 Credit (I'm in the US a lot so this is more useful to me than the 6gb plan)
    $8 Call Display - Less $8 Credit
    $3 Call Forwarding - Less $3 Credit
    Whocalled Service (Credited)
    Total: $80 + GRRF + Tax

Pretty good deal although I will probably have to get rid of it as it seems Rogers Call Forwarding does not work with US numbers (even though I was told it did) which I need..

Can anyone comment on if I could have done better for them? They don't really need unlimited calling plans or 6gb data and I was trying to keep their combined bill to under $120 before taxes.
