    Anyone had any bluetooth problems with this phone? I have bluetooth in 2 vehicles and also a bluetooth earpiece. They all work fine except when I turn off the 1 car the phone never disconnects(icon says connected) unless I turn bluetooth on and off and it drains the battery. I never had this issue with my Droid.

    I called Verizon CS and the gentleman I spoke with is getting me the deal (Fascinate/Droid X) and giving me the instant rebates since it's a glitch when trying to add a non Fascinate as the Free phone.

    There are some known issue with Bluetooth and certain vehicles. I think a link to the list of known issues Samsung is working on was posted earlier in this thread.

    I reaped the "free Phone Friday" from best buy and I LOVE this phone. It had a problem with GPS at first but I had all 3 location items checked, VZW location service, standalone Gps, and Google Location. It would lockon it about 3 or 4 seconds but was close to 1/2 mile off. Then I read online that to test the gps you should only have the Standalone gps service checked. I unchecked the others and it now is spot on and takes only a few seconds.

    Beautiful display super light and thin and very ergonomic easily pocketable. I don't have a problem with the lock button but the charger is just OK. Touchwiz is nice but I had to do away with it for my google maps and navigation. Can't wait for 2.2 or my 30 day return window which would mean root.

    Is there anyway to adjust the microphone sensitivity? I get a lot of complaints from people I call about excessive background noise and even the talkback I hear in the earpiece is distorted and over powering.

    The Fascinate does not have very good noise canceling but it should not be as bad as you are describing. I've yet to have a complaint from any of my callers. I would try to compare it to another Fascinate or simply take it to a VZW store, it may be defective.

    This is my second one- first one had signal issues (confirmed in store).

    The microphone is very sensitive. I can set it on the counter and step a good ways back and it will still pick me up.

    edit* I went into the "secret" menus and tried messing with sidetone (no dice) and looked at the audio path adjustments but was unable to make any sense of it.

    I think the values are in hex or something else above my head...

    Here are the values:
    Voice call receiver input volume VoiceCall receiver output Volume
    IN1L 18h OPGALEFT 20h
    8b 40
    MIXIn1L 29h OPGARIGHT 21h
    30 40
    HPOUT2MIX 1Fh
    20h
    HPOUTMIXL 31h
    0
    HPOUTMIXR 32h

    How do you get to the Secret menu? I'll see if mine is different

    Yes, the values with "h" following them are Hex, which means base 16 numbers.

    Here are the values:
    Voice call receiver input volume VoiceCall receiver output Volume
    IN1L 18h OPGALEFT 20h
    8b 40
    MIXIn1L 29h OPGARIGHT 21h

    I'm not absolutely sure, but knowing a bit about audio, I would guess the following:

    * L/R = Left/Right.
    * MIX options indicate how much of the signal from the given channel gets added to the mono "mix" that's sent or received.
    * HPOUT probably means Headphone Output.
    * OPGA is probably Output Gain - given that it's referring to Left & Right channels, this probably refers to gain going to the stereo speakers when in speakerphone mode
    * IN1L/MIXIn1L are the mic inputs. I don't think the Fascinate has dual mics for noise cancelling - if so, one value might be the overall input and the other is the amount of mix from the opposite mic to cancel out.

    So if I wanted to reduce the microphone sensitivity what value would I want to enter?

    I would guess IN1L and MIXIn1L. To take those two values to about 75% of current values, use these:

    IN1L = 12h
    MIXIn1L = 1eh

    Thanks for the help. No dice though. If I enter ANY values, the earpiece, speaker and microphone quit working all together. I had to power cycle the phone and it worked. I checked the values and they were back to factory settings.

    Had another person complain that my voice and background noise comes across too loud (I'm not a loud talker). Seems I'm not the only one- others are complaining about too much sidetone and mic sensitivity in other forums.

    Was worth a shot. Sorry I can't really provide an answer. Don't have the answer or the actual technical knowledge of the "secret sauce" menus.

    Go into the secret menu and go to audio tuning and turn off sound booster and change the Clarity to a 6 and see if that helps. Mine had a tiny bit of distortion in my own ear piece (others didn't seem to complain) but seems better now with sound booster off and clarity moved.

    The phone is great! Only caveat I have, is when BT is enabled..I can hear the voice commands prompt in the headset just fine, so I know the connection is 'there' However, the Google Maps Turn by Turn directions are only played on the sets speaker. Any way to re-direct this to the BT headset?
