Which places have you tried?
I bought an X10i locked to Orange (takes the longest with a code and the most expensive ... sigh, btw). I ordered an unlock code from unlocking.com (no vendors here offer X10 unlocking) around 11am EST on Sept 21... So, it's been a week so far. I thought I'd go for the code but the date from that site keeps changing and my order keeps on getting put on hold. I shouldn't have to babysit it.
HTCCODE offers cable unlocking but not through their website (you have to go to their forum i think). They had issues early on but from what I've been able to tell, it seems it's been working pretty reliably for the last month and takes a few minutes.
If you have an X10a through Rogers, there's a site that does it pretty cheap (wireless in canada or something like that?). That's about it that I know of.
So it depends on who your phone is locked to.
Ummm... yeah... anyways... sorry csekar443, that's just not answering the question and those instructions aren't for the x10...
