I've read a lot of things on the internet saying that the Sanyo / Kyocera M6000 Zio is user-upgradeable to Android 2.1 (And maybe even 2.2)
Has anyone successfully upgraded their Android software and if so, can you please tell me how to do it for the M6000 Zio?
I also want to know how to update my zio, but wouldn't that void my warranty?
I think rooting and doing almost anything that isn't official from Kyocera would void your warranty, but from what I've heard, you can undo changes you make.
sooo dose that mean that super smart plp can get the rom from it tweak it and put it in crickets zio?????
Probably, but Cricket should be coming out with the Android 2.1 update soon. I think Sprint said it's getting Android 2.2 so that means Cricket should be able to get that too.
I want I want I want, The only official word Ive heard for the ZIO 2.1 is 4th quarter so like now! But Cricket and Sanyo pushed back the release date of the ZIO haw many times and for how long so who knows. It would definitely transform this phone 110%
You are incorrect, the Zio is getting an official update to 2.2 this week
okay since it happed by this week where is the link now its feb 8th still no update you sent this post on jan 24th and still not here again do you really trust cricket that much they have been pushing the dates out and will continue to do so until we all give up and get rid of the sanyo zio
My apologies guys, I work for a cricket dealer and we were made to believe the update would be rolling out sooner. Kyocera has pulled all phones from inventories to get the update installed on the phones. The OTA update has not been given an ETA but I promise it is coming shortly.
it would be nice to have a update already i should have bought a non cricket phone and flashed it over at least then i would get updates from a more responsible company like sprint and or verzion... 1.6 is a joke and i should have known.
