New to the forums -SIMple Mobile Rep-

Hi! I'm new here, I signed up at the insistence of a customer today. I work for Simple Mobile's customer service. I didn't see a subforum for them, so I figured T-mobile would be the next best thing. Could a simple mobile subforum be created? I'm here to help if anyone has questions about simple mobile service or needs help getting their phone configured.

Let me post a few basic links I use at work everyday!

    http://simplemobile.yolasite.com/

    http://www.mysimplemobile.com/

The rest are top secret, but these cover 95% of what I need to answer peoples questions about service or configuration.

    Thanks!

Yeah I think T-Mobile would be the best place to post about SIMple mobile, considering that it runs on T-Mobile's network. Maybe we can get a sub-section soon.

    Good to have you!

Quick question - SIMple Mobile's data plans really only allow for 1GB a month, right? Any plans to make it unlimited?

That is one of those hush hush, don't talk about sort of things, but I believe it is 1GB. No plans to change, however if I get news, I will give it. The reason they gave me is to prevent people from using their phone as a modem.

They need to close the 7-Eleven Speak Out Forums here, and replace it with Simple Mobile.

Speak Out service has been phased out last year and the forum is stale.

Good to have ya on board! Just an FYI, they need to update their coverage database and maps, it shows my area (Mendocino County, NW CA) as not being covered, but we've had native T-Mobile service since last summer, when they started building out here, and T-Mobile now has close to 20 sites in our county alone. Also, the Lake County, CA T-Mobile coverage (which started build out last summer as well) is also not being shown or reflected in the zip lookup tool nor shown on the coverage map, they are on our Eastern Border and in the same service area as us (Rural Service Area 344). If you could pass this along to those who are in charge of this, it'd be great!

Thanks for answering. I just wanted to be sure.

if I could cut down my data usage, I'd switch to SIMpleMobile but I use at least 3GB a month...and that's not from tethering. That's just me using my phone.

I hope you'll stick around here. HoFo people are cool!

Hey Simple Mobile rep..perfect timing! Question: was in Costco and saw the Nokia Nuron for $100. and would like to know if it would work (all functions, especially Navi) on your $50. plan w/100mb of data?
Many thanks! Best of luck to Simple Mobile.

We actually have a ticket open for a customer with a nuron, she's been having trouble with it, so I'd be cautious. We don't get a lot of nokias using internet service, and we only have one config to cover all nokias.

We only guarantee that talk and text will work. Phone specific functions, like navi, I doubt it would work, unless it relies on the web profile, and that depends on whether we can get the web profile set up.

Also, the 100mb plan is often not enough for customers who like to use the internet a lot. However, if you run out, you can purchase 100 more mb for $10.

Ilvla2 - I will ask if there's anyway to update the coverage map, however the people I work with are really only responsible for maintaining the call center floor, they can't make changes to the web site. Perhaps we should write off an email.

To dreamcatcher and brad15 - I really hope they can expand unlimited to accommodate more customers. If I had a capable phone, I wouldn't want to be limited by 1gb either. However, I have yet to have a customer on the unlimited plan call and complain that their data has been throttled or disconnected. If such a thing were to happen tomorrow, I think a supervisor would override it for that customer, if possible.

We are a young and growing company, and changes happen literally everyday. What applied yesterday won't apply tomorrow, I just hope everything changes for the better.

Actually there is a section for MVNOs here:

Perhaps a Mod can move this thread there.

Ovi Maps will work offline. The phone comes preloaded with the maps on the SD Card however aGPS will not work without a data connection naturally. I don't see why shes having so many problems with data. Certain T-Mobile apps won't work like Visual Voice mail obviously but if she just changes the APN it should work flawlessly. I've had to change the APN because of me participating in an IPv6 beta.

Is there any possibility of your company offering a plan with minutes and data but no texting for $5-10 off your current prices?

I heard today they are thinking about a data only plan, didn't hear about something as odd as talk+data. I thought txt operated on the talk bandwidth (or whatever), so it wouldn't make sense for it to cost extra.

If I hear something I'll post it!

I did hear some interesting facts today. Simple Mobiles network is 3G, now while that's nothing new, the claims of people getting 3G coverage in some areas, and 2G in others is false. If you're on the network on a 3G phone, you're on 3G. There are so many modern phones that don't even operate on 3G, I was surprised to find out.
