There's definitely a front camera. That wacky Steve Litchfield has already reviewed his E7, and he talked about the camera.

Now that you mention the keyboard, I'll say that I played with an N8 side by side with my iPhone 4. The iPhone 4 in landscape qwerty was a better experience than the N8 in landscape qwerty.

I really, really wanted to like the N8 better than the iPhone 4, but it is just not as good.

I don't have the pleasure of an iphone4 accessible right now, can you elaborate what you mean by better experience? Or is ignorance bliss?

yes it is. but it could be because of the N8 sales or something. it was offered in black only thus making most of us wait longer for the other colors. maybe they tried to switch it up to silver seeing as sales of that color for the N8 was higher? lol sucks cause now i'm waiting for black instead of silver.

the keyboard layout is much better. heck the 5800 keyboard layout is better than the n8 imo.

No other phones can compete ip4 when it comes to keyboard. The only other phone that was close to ip4 is Samsung Focus.

I usually like black on all my phones, but got the N8 in Silver. I've also seen a Dark Grey (AKA Black) N8 up close and would still take the silver over it.

Although IMO nothing beats the "Chrome and black business look" like the e71/e72 for any Nokia phone...

Well I've used the ip4 keyboard and still have 3 phones that could compete IMO.

Galaxy S - SWYPE preinstalled (Depends if you like SWYPE or not)

HTC Desire - Stock Keyboard is really good

Motorola Milestone - OK I'm cheating here. Stock keyboard blows, but install "Smart Keyboard Pro" and I think it's just as good. Plus you have the slide-out Q which is also nice for quick editing...

I don't think that any QWERTY keyboard on any phone that I have ever used is comparable to Swype, to be honest. Swype on the N8 or the Galaxy S is better than the iPhone 4, it's better than WP7's very good keyboard and I even prefer it to both portrait and landscape physical QWERTY keyboards.

Used SWYPE, and included KB on Desire Z - could not compete with the iPhone 4.

Anything else out there since then?

Like I said you are either going to like SWYPE (especially in Portrait) or you won't.

I like it but Android's "Smart Keyboard Pro" is currently my hands down favorite... (Love it even more that it's 3rd party, so it will move with me to whichever Android phone I move to)

I played with the E7 a bit and it's not a bad phone actually though its current price is ridiculous. The build quality is great like you would expect and despite the lowish specs it felt pretty smooth.

I remain completely baffled by their decision to drop auto-focus which was present on both the E71 and E72. Personally I use my camera as a makeshift scanner quite often and that doesn't really work without autofocus. One would think this is an especially useful feature for an enterprise phone. The camera appears quite decent actually and is quick like the N8 which makes the absence of autofocus all the more glaring. I think putting a high-end camera on a qwerty phone would have been a great idea and a good way of differentiating from its competitors.

I think the the E7 could do well after a 25% price drop especially among customers who don't follow phones and specs that closely. It creates a good first impression and I am sure Nokia will market the hell out of it. I still think Nokia is in deep trouble if the E7 is the best it's got for 2011.

i'm pretty sure they dropped the auto-focus because they wanted to keep the thin profile. the the e71/72 there is a bulge much like the n8 (not as large, but still there).

I agree with you...there are several of us on teh same boat. I'm undecided really... the price right now is outrageous for an e7, but I may just pay it and pre order. I'm not 100% sure yet.

In my case teh bottom line is that i'm kinda bored with my e75 and I need somethign new. Logic will tell you that by new you mean a newer device, but as I was browsing around I came to the e71. I was considering between the e71 vs e75 back in the day and went with the e75...but u can get e71's dirt cheap now a days and it's got a reputation for bing a very solid device. Since the past few days have been quite entertaining getting familiar with apps and stuff (i had NEVER changed even a wall paper or theme on teh e75 since new) I came to the realization that I have 3 options.

I may just get an e71 and see if that keeps me entertained for a bit while prices drop for the e7. Worst case scenario I go with my seciond option and add teh e71 to the 'collection'

I may just go with the n8 if I find an orange one for 350 and then get the e7 once it's more affordable.

    or just pre-order the e7.

The Milestone is roughly as thin, has no bulge and yet comes with autofocus. The fact is the E7 compares poorly with Android qwerty phones like the Desire Z and Milestone 1/2 both on specs and price.
