You can keep your current plan, the g1 orginal plan should work on G2. The Android plan is the same, it really doesnt matter.
Upgrade with retensions (611, "Cancel service") they should be able to keep all the features.

I have the 24.99 G1 Unlimited Data plan w/ 400 Texts and I am wondering if this plan will work with the G2 when it drops. My girlfriend has a plan called Android Unlimited Internet Plan + 400 Messages for the same price. Should I change to that plan since it has the more universal name?

I just talked to support and they said the same thing you did. That the G1 plan will work on the G2.

People have been using the "G1" plan with other Android devices, like the Vibrant, with no issues at all. It's essentially the same thing as Android Web, it just has a different name.
I just wanted to make sure. I did not want to go to Upgrade to the G2 and then get told in the store that I needed one of the new $30+ plans that have no bundled texts.
