Dropped iPhone 4 in street, shattered glass... can I remove all the shards of glass?

Can't believe this happened & it's a long story. But bottom line is, my iPhone 4 has a completely shattered front. Good news it turns on & swipes (though I have to be careful not to cut my finger!) so I want to know if I remove all the glass, can I use the iPhone without it? Will the little "home" button stay in place? Would like to remove the glass but don't know if that's holding other pieces in place. Appreciate your help!

Yeah, I think the digitizer is well glued to the glass (remember the brown blotches that went away after a bit on early i4s).

    $199. Apple Genius Bar. Done.
If you commonly type the name iPhone as "Iphone" or "I-Phone"... or if you commonly refer to an iPod Touch as an "iTouch" or "I-Touch"...... Then you deserve whole bottle of habanero hot sauce poured into your eyes!

You can order parts and install the screen yourself but I would also prefer the $199 donation to the genius bar...

Packing tape. One piece over the front. Phone will still work, and you won't get cut.

Yep. It's called Out-of-Warranty Service. Certain damage is ineligible though.

Thanks for the advice guys! The Apple store tech looked at it & said replacing the screen wasn't a good idea because the phone had been run over! So he replaced the phone for $199 + tax. Will get an Otter case for this one .

haha, good point. Most Apple product are designed around their looks, most cases do ruin the look.
Seems like it is cool to have these in your sig?
