    screen timeout

I am a brand new iphone 4 ios 4.1 user and I have looked all over for this answer and could not find it.

When I am running the maps program (google maps?) when I am sitting at a red light the screen times out and shuts of and clearly I don't want that.

So are there setting for screen time out for the maps program?

    Thanks for any help

Before you open maps, go to your settings and under the general section go to auto lock and select off. Your screen will not turn off until you turn auto lock back on.

Excellent thanks for the quick reply

I should have asked this in the original post as well. Is there a way to get it so the arrow stays as the directional arrow vs the default arrow? This one isnt a big deal but if it can be done I would rather have it set all the time.

No, I don't think so. The Maps app is fairly basic without many bells and whistles.
