    Suspicious phone calls...Spoofed, 3 digit ID's

Just curious if anyone else with Telus is getting slammed with these annoying calls showing only 3 digit numbers for call display?

I've got 3 different accounts and 2 of the 3 numbers are generally only used between the phones (so nobody has the numbers. All 3 of the phones are getting these calls starting about 3 weeks ago. Relentless and annoying.

Have also had a number of calls from 888-888-8888 and 416-000-0000.

I keep adding them to my contact list so they no longer ring but damn...it's getting out of hand.

It's funny to see a Spoofcard Ad beside the message.

Sadly, the DNCL only applies to Canadian companies. If they originate offshore that can harass you all they like

Used to get these all the time, I tracked it down to a site called prankdial. Sadly not much you can do but change your number.

My proven way to stop these calls......

Answer, speak immediately so the computer will transfer to a live person. Then have fun with it, tell them you are so interested, but keep saying you are doing things, like answering doorbell, getting pen and paper, getting credit card.

The more you can waste that live person's time (and wages) will get you off call lists faster than any "do not call" list. I do this, and they never call again, and I have rarely been getting new calls.

Hit them where it hurts, the wallet.

If a nice percentage of people did this, all telemarketing would probably stop...

And please feel free to pass all of this along whenever you post comments on other numbers...

BTW: the best I've been able to do is keep them on the line for 11 minutes, but with only coming back to the phone for 15 seconds at a time, three times. So my 45 seconds cost them 11 minutes of wages.
