Downloaded, installed and running like a charm, the operation was a sucess doctor! Lol I didn't lose Root either, pretty cool.

Edit-I guess I did lose Root, I wonder, will the 2.1 Method work on Froyo?

Hmm, no One Touch Root for the this release on the X, though I'm sure somebody will have it out in no time. For now, it's the adb method to root.

Im digging the froyo update. The problem I was having with the stock gallery app has been fixed along with an updated look to the app which I like. The new battery manager is pretty cool.

Im typing this on my phone an I noticed that instead of the keyboard taking up the entire screen, I can now see the website im typing on. I know that was a complaint for some. Also there is a seperate button for the comma and the I automatically capitalizes as well.

Scrolling thru screens is smother as well as going thru the app drawer. Internet seems faster but that maybe in my head. Just playing with the phone for 20 min is making me like the update a lot.

Forgot to mention that the pause button and volume controls in flash videos is small. You need to zoom in to control.

I've noticed two force closes. One is when going go the battery manager and clicking on the large battery icon. The other is when going to the advanced WiFi settings and clicking on the channel selector.

currently testing alarm volume, that was a big problem for me since i'd sometimes wake up late when i miss a really quiet alarm

also, the vibration when pressing keys on the keyboard is new; it's less "bzzt" and more like "brt", it's now really short and more powerful, it very closely mimic the vibration when actually clicking a key

    edit: HOORAY!
alarm plays through headphones AND through the speaker, but the speaker volume is thankfully rather low, so it'll me up but not my roomate.

Yeaa guys, sorry I lied to you about it not being available till noon.
Iam finishing the upgrade now like most of you already have.
Didnt see much of a difference in the gmail update. I downloaded that from the market yesterday on my original Droid w/ 2.2.
    Either way, we gotz 2.2 0n de X !!

swype looks different. I want the black keyboard back.

Also I read yesterday that there is a gmail update. Do we need to do that in the Market or was it baked in to Froyo?
