Any help/suggestions on Unlocking my Xperia X10? (Locked to AT&T)
Hello guys.
I have waisted so much time searching for a way trying to unlock my Xperia X10 that i just purchased.
Things i have tried are
#1 Rooting, (according to this guy using his software and stuff) but that didn't work for me it just didn't unlock it after the first steo so i couldn't follow his second step.
#2 A software sold from an unlocking site for $40 called qUnlock tool (it requires password and they provide it) but this did't work for me either because it say my IMEI number is different from what i get when i type *#06#, any way, just didn't work for me.
#3 Tried buying unlock code but all of them reply to me that their data base doesn't have the code for my phone.
I guess after the weekends i will find my friend with AT&T and try to get a code from AT&T trough his name/account.
But is there anything else any body can suggest for me? I am a little frustrated and tired of unsuccessful attempts so fur...
I don't know.. it's a pretty new model so it doesn't surprise me if there isn;t a code available yet to unlock it. Best piece of advice I can give is for you to just sell it and then get a new one that's already unlocked. I also have a Xperia X10i which I bought from timtechs but the only thing is it's not a US version but I get to use it with T-mobile. I wish you Goodluck
I have a Rogers X10a. I unlocked mine in about 10 min's.And 9.45 of that was buying the unlock code and waiting for them to e-mail it to me.Once i had the code it was only about 15 sec's and way to go.
If you're in the United States, where you'll either use AT&T or T-Mobile, sell the X10a you have and get an X10i. Why? Because if you unlock your X10a from AT&T you won't get 3G on T-Mobile, the frequency bands simply aren't available.
You should be able to do a straight swap price wize between the X10a and X10i if you sell and buy on eBay.
If you're unlocking for international travel and keeping AT&T then you don't have too much of a choice but to unlock the X10a because if you keep AT&T and get an X10i you'll loose 3G on AT&T.

However i wanted more from my online and i have followed the you-tube video to root he phone and i have rooted it which caused my keypad to to totally dissaper on me. I have no keypad on my phone now whats so ever, i can't type text mess nor go online and type in address. when i click on the space for typing mess or whatever it is a keypad usually popped up but after a root it does not. and i can't find it in the settings any where either.
Maybe there is a keypad software that i can just install. I don't wanna reset my settings cuz i am afraid its gonna lock my phone again.

could you please provide more info on how did you unlock your phone? i contacted ATT&T they simply said as its ATT exclusive model they dont have unlock code.i already sent my phone to abroad.so only options i have right now is remote unlocking. thanks in advance.

Could you provide me the link to the website you used to unlock your x10? Is it X10A or X10I. If it was X10A did you lose 3g connection after you unlock it?

He is the only one I know who can unlock American AT&T X10. Because I went tru the same frustrations you are having right now. It takes him a couple of days. But he is only one that I know of. And He is nice.
We can do this for you now.
It is a remote unlock via usb cable, it will take you aprox 10 minutes from start to finish (actual nlock is 20 seconds or so), but alowing for installing drivers etc.
Any way the following models are supported X10, X10i, X10a & Docomo SO-01B
