Angry Simple Mobile Data Not Working

I just signed up for Simple Mobile a few days ago on the $50 plan. I have a T-Mobile Wing running Windows Mobile 6.1 and followed the directions here to setup data. I also deleted my old T-Mobile Data settings. When I go to Internet Explorer I can access only Yahoo.com but any other website directs me to http://10.176.76.164/resources/webpages/error.jsp

I also tried my Google maps app and it says there is no connection even though my Simple Mobile connection is active on the phone. Any ideas why this is occurring? If this continues I might as well switch to Virgin Mobile..

Finally got it to work! The instructions on the simplemobile.webs.com site are incorrect(http://simplemobile.webs.com/index/O...FT%20FINAL.htm). In short, the configuration of the proxy server is not necessary - by removing the proxy config my connection now works like a champ!

    Internet Settings

    Start and then Settings.

    Tap on the Connections tab.

    Tap on the Connections icon.

    Tap on the Advanced tab.

    Tap on Select Networks.

    Tap on New…

In the Enter a name for these settings: field, enter Simple

    Tap on the Modem tab.

    Tap on New.

In the Enter a name for the connection: field, enter Simple

Tap on the Select a modem: drop down list and select Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G).

    Tap on Next.

In the Access point name: field, enter simple and tap on Next.

In the Username: field, enter (blank)

In the Password field, enter (blank)

    Tap on Finish.

    Tap on ok three times.

Tap Edit my proxy server under "Simple"

Tap to check This network connects to the Internet.
THE NETWORK DOES NOT USE A PROXY
Tap to check This network uses a proxy server to connect to the Internet.

Enter 216.155.165.050 in the Proxy server field.

    Tap Advanced.

    Tap HTTP.

Enter 8080 in the Port field.

    Tap OK four times.

    Tap Start again.

    Tap Internet Explorer.

    Browse to www.google.com

    Tap Menu.

    Tap Tools and tap Options.

Tap Use Current under Home page.

    Tap OK.

I'll have to try this. My wife's Wing was having numerous errors on Simple Mobile.

I called TS over the weekend. I was told that they supported HTML but not web apps on their network (no SOCKS proxy.)
So anything in the browser would work, but apps that connected directly like IM likely wouldn't.

I've been having problems specifically with Evernote & Kinoma player, so I'm hoping this will fix things.

my son has a Tmobile Wing and they said they will not support it at all not even calls or text messaging. What do you suggest? does it work for you? (reply to email. tedraortega@gmail.com)
