    Net10: replacing free 200/300 minutes with 750 minute/unlimited plans.

Sweeper pointed it out on Pbushx2's Tracfone forum. Net10 is now giving away 750 minute/unlimited plans on its phones. They are spreading Net10 Unlimited beyond Target. Best deal I saw? Reconditioned T401G Samsung Full qwerty with 750 minute plan for $25. Get 'em while their hot.

I think they are reducing the 300 minute bonuses (still available on some phones) in order to push their new monthly plans.

Dang. That's a killer deal on the T401g. I ordered one.. I have a 200 minute and 300 minute card from the old bundles (along with whatever free phone) so I'll hang onto them and use them on the refurb'd T401g if the need arises. The $25 750 minute plan is a nice alternative. It might not be the most competitive but it's good for people who are accustomed to TracFone/NET10, and it will only encourage more and more choice in the prepaid market.

Their ToS say that you can't switch between the traditional pay as you go plans and the monthly plans, but I see their FAQ says you can. I guess the only way to find out is to actually try it, but I'm inclined to believe you can only because they're touting how you can choose what fits your needs and how the 300 minutes isn't included anymore so you can choose what you want, like their monthly plans.
Castrol EDGE 5W-30 is my drug of choice.

    Primary: iPhone 6 64GB, Galaxy Note 3, Lumia 635: 5 lines, 3x $5 Android web, 1x $2.99 T-Zones, corp discount + $10/mo loyalty discount = $93/mo tax inclusive
Secondary: iPhone 4S & LG Ultimate 2: TracFone (Verizon)
Tablet: iPad Mini Retina w/ T-Mobile 4G LTE ($10/mo for 5GB with hotspot)

If they start giving away 750 minutes (even if it is for use in one month) with a phone, people will just buy a new phone every month. That will increase the cost of phone subsidies exponentially.

I bought the $25 750 minute card. I assumed it would add 750 minutes to my Net 10 phone.

Now I am starting to think the 750 minutes do not roll over.

What will happen if I add it to my Net 10 phone that already has 300 minutes on it?

The new cards don't roll over. And you'll lose whatever you already have on the phone.

I see room for a possible glitch here. And you old-timers here know how much I like trac/n10 glitches....What if you add the 750 plan PIN and then before the 30 day expiration you add a regular 300 min PIN? Logic would tell us that the balance of the 750 gets zeroed, but will it really? Kinda like how the ST plans are rolling over when they shouldn't. Which brings up the possibility of that glitch happening with n10 also........hmmmmm

I recently tested the "don't mention a PP Dealer by name" rule here on PP Hofo......trust me, it is still in effect - got me a 7 day ban.

Anybody want to put up $55 to test tracnet's theory? If it works it would bring your CPM down to about $.054.

Uncertain if someone already posted this, but Net10 also has a T401G bundled with a Net10 Unlimited airtime card, and a $20 gift certificate for only $50.

    @jimest:

Another not-quite-as-good deal you might consider, which requires you to have a credit card for auto-monthly billing, but does allow minutes to rollover and accumulate, is the Easy Minutes $30 plan with 500 minutes. If it fits you, it's out there. Best to know what your rough monthly usage is though, to choose wisely.

Net10 Unlimited has a minute cap, just like most mvnos...kind of. But what a Cap!

Net10 Unlimited has spelled out a hard cap for their minutes on their website: http://www.net10.com/faqs/index.jsp "Q. How does the NET10 Unlimited 30 Day Monthly Plan work?
    A. You will receive 50,000 Minutes and 30 Service Days to be used for talk, text/picture message and mobile web access."

However, unlike the paltry 4000/5000 minutes of some Sprint mvnos, they are saying their cap on N10 Unltd is 50,000 minutes!
FIFTY THOUSAND MINUTES. There aren't that many minutes in a month! (They assume some of it will be converted to text and data).

Net10 Unlimited sounds like a REAL unlimited plan to me. They may lack byod (unlike Simple or H20/Air Voice,) but if you are a TRUE unlimited caller and have been leery about mvnos cutting you off for "unreasonable use", N10 Unlimited might be the ticket for you.

A 50,000 minute cap? Honest and unlimited? Who'da thought?

Straight Talk's cap was 43,200 minutes for a while. That line was eventually stricken from the TOS, but I haven't heard of anyone being cut off that service due to too much talk/text (I think they cut off one person due to data and that person IIRC had modded the $329 phone to use YouTube and Netflix). According to a poster on here, 43,200 minutes happens to be the number of minutes in a 30 day month.

mharris beat me to it. I was going to say that a 50000 minute cap is redundant as there are not that many minutes in 30 days.
