Question Verizon Phone with Video Calling/Front-Facing Camera?

    Hello all,

I am looking for a Verizon phone that my girlfriend may use for video calls to me on my HTC EVO. I have searched the forum, Verizon's website, and other internet sites and have not been able to find anything. Is this because Verizon does not offer a phone with these features? A Verizon rep, via Live Chat, told me the Samsung Fascinate had a front facing camera but the CNET review said it did not (nor was it listed on the as one of the phones features on the Verizon site).

So, is there any Verizon phone with a front-facing camera and capable of video calling?

    If yes, which one?

If no, can video calling still be achieved? How?

Any help would be much appreciated. I'm not too familiar with Verizon's lineup and my attempt at educating myself has led me to you guys.

    Thanks!!

When the LTE is rolled out, then we should see (hopefully) some video chat capable phones. Right now CDMA is unable to multi-task a video call. You'd have to have a phone with a wireless internet capability and then use the wireless aspect of the phone and then also happen to have a front facing camera. I am looking forward to this day, when I can video chat with my kids from wherever I happen to be. Stay tuned until the end of 2010 to early 2011.

    Video conferencing available on Verizon

Video conferencing is available for Android based phones using a program called 'Tango'. It is a free download on the Android market. The downside is that since Verizon does not have a front-facing camera phone, you will have to stand in front of a mirror. Other than that... the program works great and gives you a little box of yourself in the corner to show you what the other person is veiwing.

There will most likely be phones coming out that will have a front facing camera. None have been announced but who knows.

Like emurp3 said there are ways to do it.

I was doing some surfing when I ran across this post from back in late August about a new HTC phone with 4.3" screen & front facing camera. It looks really nice. I've seen conflicting reports though, one says its coming to Sprint as the HTC Merge and another says its coming to Verizon as the Incredible HD.

I think a moderator later in the post at droidforums predicts it will be at Verizon in late November.
