Are you using an antivirus? If so get rid of it, its a known issue. If not, call it in.

Hi - I have a motorola Droid. I got it on release day back in November 2009, so the warranty is nearly up.
The touchscreen has recently started acting like it is possessed. It will start registering me touching the screen all over it. It will start running apps, calling people, etc. It seems to be humidity induced somewhat - but also just random. But it definitely happens more if I use my phone shortly after getting out of the shower.
At this point I'm figuring I warranty the phone. Any thoughts?

Do a Nandroid backup of the phone; then flash it with a full system Verizon SBF. If your issue goes away, then it probably wasn't hardware. But it sounds more like a hardware problem to me.
Verizon warrantied my Droid at 6 months, same issues. Unroot (de-root?) first, though.
I had mine replaced twice for that same reason. Both times the phone was almost unusable...

Mine acts this way when I use a cheap ebay AC charger that I bought. Needless to say, I have stopped using that charger.
I have had this happen with the Original Droid (warrantied by VZW),and a Droid X I bought used from a friend (vzw refused to warranty, phone sent to Mot).
Comment from an acquaintance who works for a cell phone reseller indicate he has seen quite a few Droids with bad screens.
I've also been having similar problems with the screen jumping all over. Also, the touch screen (sometimes only lower left) also become unusable (i.e., neither the touch screen or buttons below recognize any presses). If I turn the screen off and the back on, it seems to reset (sometimes for only a short period).
My phone problem also seems to be heat (or more likely humidity since sweat seems to trigger it sometimes) associated. Actually, I hadn't seen much problem over the last few weeks until today when temperatures shot back up into the 80s again and humidity was up.
I've gone into Verizon twice and they've done factory resets, but the same problem continues to occur. Because I haven't been able to replicate the problem at the store, Verizon hasn't been willing to replace the phone or acknowledge there is any problem. As it does appear heat/humidity related, I'm concerned that it won't reappear (which is good) with any consistency until next spring when it will be out of warranty.
Take it to a different store or go through Motorola. They should believe you when you say there is a problem.
Anyone's Droid acting crazy today?
