Very impressed by Mobi data lately.
Did a couple speedtests in our house using my brothers phone (havent necessarily done any since I left last year), and my I don't get anything lower than 2Mb down and 0.4Mb up. Obviously I'd like to try it out in more places but so far very impressed.
here's what i get at 3-pmish in downtown edmonton now
about 10x higher than it was a month ago sadly, but still so slow i think i'm going to have to switch carriers =/
Tuesday Morning. Data speeds are pretty consitant around this speed.
Vancouver, BC
Surrey today -
352ms ping
1940kbps down
247kbps up
- BUT - i'm having a helluv a time with the FACEBOOK, YOUTUBE, DOLPHIN BROWER, and TED.COM apps...
Anyone else having problems with data intensive applications?

BruceBanner and sandu, where in surrey and at about what time did you take those readings?
Would you please do me a favor: take reading at 108 Ave and either 134, 135 or Gateway Drive in sight of the Gateway Skytrain station? I'm relocating from Toronto.
138 and 104 during business hours... There is a dead spot 108 & 142
That's interesting...there's suppose to be a tower at 134 and 104, less than a km away from where you took the reading. So there it's not reception as much as congestion during the day.Kinda makes sense since that's Surrey city center (at least that's my impression the few times I've been to Surrey). Since it's also the tower closest to the particular area of my interest up the street, one can assume similar if not worse data speed.
The deadspot you mention happens to be the "dead" center of a triangle of formed by 3 towers located at 104/134, 104/152 and just across the river at the Port Mann bridge. That is, maximum distance between towers that are already among the farthest apart according to the tower map where coverage circles emanating from those towers do not intersect (or if they do, it's at the very fringe coverage of all 3), and is therefore definately explained by reception problem.

Speeds are so horrible here at Finch & Neilson that it takes 3 minutes to load a webpage and it's almost impossible to connect to the network. Stupid abusers.
Just did a speedtest on Mobi, Friday night on May 24 near Square One, Mississauga. Terrible speeds.
