No, you do not. However, any balance remaining on the account will be abandoned. Also, any monthly fees you've been charged for will not be refunded. If you are not porting out, the service will continue to work until there is an insufficient balance to cover the monthly fees. If you do port your number out any days remaining in the month that you have already paid for are lost. Chatr will not "cancel" an account nor is there any reason to. You do need to phone Chatr customer service to halt any pre-authorized payments or they will continue billing you indefinitely.
also lets say you have the prepaid service... but you do not deposit any money in it... how long will rogers/chatr keep your line? i can keep this as a second line for guests who visit me from states....
After 6 straight months of a failed renewal of the monthly plan, the customer will lose the phone number. This information is availiable from the Chatr website.
