Might be worth a shot:
Installed Slingplayer Mobile and ran it but couldn't input my Slingbox number without a physical keyboard. I'll try it with a bluetooth keyboard when I figure out how to get one working with my N8.
Also installed Hava Player but couldn't get it to connect to my box using either 3G or wifi.
Anybody else get any better results?

is the 5th app still works on Symbian3 ?
does N8 support Chinese?
I have been a participant and a Nokia user and defender for many years...I am not going anywhere. I am looking forward to the usual release comments of another N series phone. You may elect not to read my comments..How's that. You have a choice.
I fully expect to read if usual N series issues on this thread and am interested in the defense of such. especially given the history of the N series devices. I hope you get a flawless device. I hope you get a device I would buy. I am glad there are early adopters to beta released phones from all manufacturers. Issues are not found until they get into the masses hands.
and THAT is what Nokia is banking on...a Camera with a phone attached albeit an aged camera interface.....You see, with the Nokia N8 it’s not about who the competition is. Not about the business benefits of a smartphone, not about the available apps. It’s about the best camera in the business.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,We’ve given up looking for the ultimate smartphone, haven’t we? The Nokia N8 most certainly isn’t in contention there. And Symbian ^3 is not the best touchscreen experience you can get – although what’s fair is fair – it’s an improvement over S60 5th. And the Ovi store isn’t the best app market, but the guys behind it try really hard.

I am grabbing the popcorn and settling in for some very interesting reading. I don't need the Samsung Forum here..XDA is the better place for Andriod.

@TBong Just because you've been a long time Nokia user doesn't mean it entitles you to derail a thread topic. If you have specific contributions to N8 tips and tricks then do so. If you're just going to fanboi Android post in an appropriate thread.
Has anybody else tried using Grooveshark on their N8? It installed ok, but then crashes after starting a stream, or won't even start streaming at all. Same goes for Last.fm. Anybody else?
If the moderators feel as you do they will let me know and i will comply...I do have a specific tip....
Don't pay anymore than $300 for the N8 based on the reviews and in consideration what is out there and what is possible..That is the best tip I can muster right now..
As far as tricks..When the inevitable list of issues begins it's normal trek,,,,,,, the trick will be defending yet another N series release. I did it last time. Who will it be this time?....You?
I think you are smart enough to know that a moderator doesn't need to tell you something as commonsensical as keeping a thread on topic.
As to defending the N8, it won't be me. You never saw me defend the N97 because I never carried it.
How is the keyboard?
I've read the whole keyboard implementation, both in landscape and portrait is underwhelming and non-user friendly: T9 only in portrait, no multi touch landscape keyboard, terrible predictive text and a similar v5 keyboard where you can't see surrounding content.
