How Do U write the Unlock Code for the Nokia C3?

I bought the Nokia C3, it is on the Rogers network, i got the unlock code but when it comes to typing the "p" , "w" , and "+" characters i am having a problem.
old nokia's we used to get them by pressing the "*" key more than once. but on the c3 its a qwerty phone so it doesnt recognize it as a special character? so i am unable to unlcok the phone so far... any help will be great?

what you need to do just follow the process.

1: First go to this link on download.com and download the NokiaFree Unlock Codes Calculator.

Step # 2: Download and install the NokiaFree Unlock codes calculator software.

Step # 3: Now, you need to find the IMEI number of your cell phone which you wish to unlock. To do this, press *#06# at your mobile phone keyboard and press the call button or an enter button if you have one.

1. Power ON your Nokia mobile phone without your SIM card.
2. Now type: #PW+CODE+1# (Where CODE is your Nokia unlock code)
3. Your phone should now show “SIM Restriction Off” and is unlocked.

Note: You must press the * key several times to get the characters for ‘P’ and ‘W’.

I'm having the same problem. If I press the * 3 times I get "***". Also I'm I suppose to press the "+"?

If I enter a foreign SIM and enter the unlock code that was provided to me it says code error. Someone please help.

If i press power, the phone prompts me to accept to continue without a sim. I can't type anything without it.

The seller I got my code from said I maybe having problems because it's a Rogers Prepaid phone. I'm not sure why that would make a difference.

Update - I finally solved this problem

When you turn the phone on without a SIM, you have to accept and continue first. Then type the #pw+code+7# as if you are dialing a phone number.

The problem for me was I wasn't actually typing the "+" key. That made the difference for me. No need to press the * key multiple time because the C3 has a query keypad.

Instructions are a little vague online.

Which C3 in terms of original branding were you trying to unlock? Fido? Speakout? Chatr?

Also, how did you know it was #pw+code+7# rather than #pw+code+1# ?

I believe it was a Rogers/Fido version. The instructions that were sent to me indicated 1 not 7. It was the stupidest instructions ever but it did work.

Is it also true that you had to do the unlock procedure with no SIM in the phone?
I saw some other instructions that said you have to put in a foreign SIM before unlocking.

There is are letters and well as numbers do you don't have to press the * three times ...as if making a call just compose

1 – Switch ON your phone without SIM Card,
2 – Compose #PW+CODE+1#

or

1 – Switch ON your phone without SIM Card,
2 – Compose #PW+CODE+7#
