I think there is something wrong with the WFM data accounting anyway. I've had the plan since the first day it came out. Use it with an iphone to check email, maps, internet, etc. and after months of use only had $6 for data use deducted from my account. When I was with AT&T they calculated my data use as 300MB a month.

Question what APN are using? Is it the T-Mobile APN or the Family Mobile APN?
can an unlocked sidekick 3 be used with the new walmart family mobile service? the guy at the store said that any t-mobile or at&t phone could be used, i just wanna make sure before i go out and buy a sidekick and then not be able to use it.

Yes, the problem is you won't be able to use things like data and MMS. Sidekicks work much like blackberry phones and all data goes through a paid proxy service. So the data won't work without the right plan code.
Just switched to WFM today and got our numbers ported over. Saving a bunch of money for the same service we were already using. Our data is working fine with the t-mobile data settings from before. Maybe that will change in a few days, but I don't see a good reason to alter the settings right now.
What's even better is that my wife can now check email on her unbranded Nokia E75. We had cancelled her data plan under T-Mobile, because they wanted to charge a ridiculous $30/month for something she barely uses, all because they categorized her phone (with it's 1.5" screen) as a "smart phone."
I want to say "Goodbye T-Mobile," but I guess all we're really doing is changing how much we pay and to whom. Whatever. The difference in monthly cost is huge.
WFM is basically T-Mobile's network minus the Plans. I put my SIM into my new Dell Streak 7 and it locked on to Tmobile's HSPA+ with no problem. I just wish they would do something with their data options.
Has anyone else been able to successfully roam on to ATT? I traveled a little today and noticed my phone said "Emergency Calls Only". I went to the"Wireless/Networks" section on my Optimus and it said ATT was the only available network. From the coverage map on the website, roaming has to be included as there is significant more areas covered than native TMO reaches.
Am I missing something in my phone? Do I have to enable roaming in the Android settings or something.
Walmart Family Mobile Plan - Is it a good mobile phone service?
I am currently a TM user, have been for the past 6 years and have not had any problems with service only price. Have 2500 minutes of which we only use about 800, unlimited text and 25.00 X 2 for android web on Vibrant phones, 10.00 for web on Highlight, plus 10.00 X 2 for extra lines.
I am curious about the WFM to cut cost, but I am hesitant to switch simply because I have the Vibrants.
Is there such a thing as Android Web on the WFM plan for the Vibrant? Also, WFM CC person says that I need to ask TM for unlock code, yet TM has been giving me the run around for two days stating they do not know what the code is?
Is the unlock code the same as the Pin code for your SIM card on your phone? Do you really need it to unlock your phone? I have bought activation cards for WFM, can I just call them and insert the cards to get my phone unlocked? Will it be a problem to switch from TM to WFM if 3 out of 4 of my phones are still under contract with TM? I am willing to pay penalties because of the huge savings that I will get in return.
Would switching from TM to WFM be a step in the right direction? I really need to cut cost and this would really help me save about $130 a month.
If the phone is a Tmobile phone, there is no need to unlock it. Just put the WFM SIM into it and it will work.
There is no Android Web plan. Data is data on WFM. You buy webpaks and use it until it is gone.
I am was not sure about how or what the Android web did, so if data is just data then I should be fine. Does this mean also that 3G will not be available and we would have to use WiFi instead?
Nope, no difference in 3G vs. Edge. I have an Optimus T on WFM and 3G works just fine. I downloaded "widgetsoid" which is a great toggle widget which has an APN toggle that changes the APN to disconnect from 3G to keep from sucking up cell data. I have wifi at home and at my office so the only time I use cell data is when I am away from either of those or need to download/send an MMS.
It has also been reported that WFM has access to the HSPA+ network at no additional charge.
