    Administrative Password

No, I mean really get into the box to fully administer it. Verizon techs can do this over the Internet and make adjustments to any NE as long as they have the MAC address. On the Verizon web site you will have very limited access to the femtocell. All you can do it prioritize what phone #'s have access to the device. That is about it. Doesn't do you much good unless the device is installed in a high volume environment. If you can identify the IP address of the device on your home network you can access it with a web browser but need a user name and password. This is what I am looking to find? Can anyone help? Thanks

Help - I get bad reception on Verizon at my house - I just purchased from Verizon a Samsung NE SCS-2u01.
    Plugged it in to my router - DI-624 - 802.11g wireless -

That was 48 hours ago and the only blue light I get is Power - Every few minutes the system, GPS and WAn go violet, but then the turn red (the GPS stays violet).

I think I have to open a port on the D-Link, but I don't know which one or how.

    Can someone point the way?

    Pre-testing your Network Connection

    Ping these IP addresses
    69.78.69.210 (UCM-SMS 2)
    69.78.69.206 (UCM-SMS 1)
    209.210.15.73 (GPS assistance server)
    69.78.95.193 (Security Gateway)
And also insure these ports are not being blocked by the isp:
TCP and UDP allowed for ports 52428, 53, 4500, and 500

If you can't get to these addresses it will not work correctly.

You could do a quick test to eliminate the router as the source of the problem. Just connect the NE directly to your modem (in place of the router). See if that works. It is very unlikely that your router is blocking any of the rquired ports/IPs - very unlikely, unless you have specifically configured it to block most/all ports. Routers almost always, by default, will allow the necessary ports for a NE to work.

Also, you need to make sure you are getting a GPS lock. Without that it won't work. Is it near a window?

Look here for a [VZW Coverage Map] to check your area. Select 4G before hitting [Refresh Map]

    Thanks for help

I think GPS lock is the problem. I will be checking everything and moving the system closer to the window.

    Thanks for the help

Just tried pluging in directly to my comcast modem. PWR light remained BLUE, SYS light rapid blinked RED, never changed to BLUE, GPS stayed VIOLET. WAN light rapid blinked BLUE, then went to RED.

After a few minutes, the PWR, SYS, and GPS lights went to VIOLET, then started the cycle over again - as listed above.
Never went to all solid BLUE.

Ping worked to all IP addresses - I have to contact Comcast to see if TCP and UDP is allowed for the ports.

    Thanks for the help

Two things... because of the way many Comcast routers work, you may have to reset the Comcast router when you change the device that is hooked up to it (i.e. your PC, your internal D-link router, or your Network Extender). This is because many Comcast routers "remember" the MAC address of what was hooked up to it last and won't allow another MAC address to access it until the Comcast is reset. So, what I'm saying is that to get a valid test, you should reset the Comcast router before plugging the Network Extender into it (or plugging any other device into the router, later).

Also, it is doubtful that Comcast is blocking any ports. Lots of Comcast people use the Network Extender. From your reports, including your ping results, I tend to think you've got a GPS lock issue, or a bad Network Extender. Did you move it close to a window?

Just got the network extender but my droid x and droid pro won't switch to the extender very easily. directs say to be within 15 feet to connect. I put it right at my garage door that goes into the house so I have to walk right by it. Have GPS lock. I have 1 to 2 bars native and when it does lock in I do get 3 -4 bars. But even standing right next to it and make a call will still use native. But when I'm done with the call then it will switch over to the extender.. Is there something wrong with the extender?

    SCS-2U01 power adapter specs?

I just purchased a used Verizon Network Extender SCS-2U01 on eBay, which is missing the power adapter. Can someone please give me the specs for the power adapter? I'm sure the voltage & polarity will probably be printed near the power jack on the back of the actual unit, so that'll be no problem. But I'll still need to know the max current (mA) rating for the adapter itself.

If anyone out there owns a SCS-2U01, I'd sure appreciate it if you could take a quick look at your power adapter and let me know the mA rating (plus polarity & output voltage if possible).

    Thanks!

Looks like a regulated 12 volt supply, center pin positive, 1.5amp.

Make sure to get a regulated one, as the measured output voltage under no load and device operation was 12 volts.

Thanks! Yes, I'll definitely use a regulated power supply.

    Appreciate it,
