Too bad its Sony. I wonder if they've skinned this device and if so now long it will take to for Sony to update it.

I also wonder how this will work, will Sony change how it has developers make games? Obviously the Android OS is different from what is running on the current PSP. If Android phones can start getting PSP like quality games I'll be a happy customer.

They can run PSP games in a PSP kernel dual processors, it is Sony product anything is possible.

From what the prototype or clever photoshop image showed us unless you slide out the PSP controls it looks like any Android device.

Also I think and I maybe wrong Sony is is having a hard time selling PSPgo adding PSPgo to Android device maybe what the product needs.

I would buy it and why not if the battery life is great, if it runs Android 2.3, if no compromises are made to the device making it an Android device anybody would be proud to have this means at least a 1 gig Processor, large ROM and RAM, top notch screen 4" 400x800 min, excellent camera and GPS, and IT MUST TAKE 32GB micoSD cards not the Sony Memory Sticks.

this is interesting...id love a new psp that also runs android (hope they have a non phone SKU)....this is what the pspgo should have been...

i dont think it will run psp games though - possibly only ps1 games and psp 'minis' but who knows...

Maybe they should at least get their only android phone to 2.1 from 1.6 before they start having dream's of putting 3.0 on a crap device!!!

UI might get a XMB flavour, like PS3 and their TV's. I think they should realize the X10 is getting some flak, and they will adjust.

Sony has gone from being everything propriatery, so co-op'ing with the most open standards. They just buy a chunk to get in the game, instead of trying to force the game upon others now.

The PSP market is now on the way down. It has been a good ride, but the architecture is getting too old. PSP Go is not the solution and so far appears as a failure.

The reason why i don't really like iPhone or iPod Touch gaming is that you have to use the screen to put in the controls. Thus the screen usability of the game is reduced to an even smaller window and the hand gets in the way of the viewing. Furthermore, touchscreens lack the tactile feel that gamers seek.

In a way its a bit of a fragmentation too. Playstation specific phone games will only run on this phone, and there will be Sony's own game store. i don't really mind at all. It can still access the pure Android games and give more reason for developers to make games for.

Where I am disappointed about it using Qualcomm's 8255 Snapdragon. The Adreno 205 is faster by at least 2x of the Adreno 200 used in the previous Snapdragon (which is the old chip WP7 phones are stuck with) but it seems no match in GPU to the OMAP6 used by the Droids and most especially, the Hummingbird used by the Samsung Galaxy S. The difference when you pick a chip for a game console vs. that of a phone is that you have to pick the most powerful for a game console because the hardware changes won't happen for years to come. At least with a smartphone, next year you can out a new model of the phone with a new chip. It should have at least a Tegra 2 in my book and at the very least, the Hummingbird.

Just remember, the so rumored Nexus S seems around the corner along with the even more intimidating Terminator phones.
