    Big 6 - Corrected Info

Although I don't disagree with some of the points above...I had to point out that this information is flawed. The "Big 6" are
CSOK, Wireless Zone, Moorehead, Go Wireless, Diamond Wireless, and A Wireless. Z Com and WeR are not Big 6.

Diamond, Go, and A all pay hourly pay plus commissions. Go has a hand ful of subs, but the vast majority of their doors (99%+) are corporate owned.

Haven't logged into this thread in some time. I've worked in the company over 4 years. They moved from an independent contractor position to employees. I read some of these other agents have problems with the stores. That's unfortunate. If it really is as bad as you say, how many times have you contacted the Regional Directors of the store? What have you told your VZWAM, or VZWDM? What is the feedback you are getting?

Here is the truth: CSOKI does the best that it can to train reps to be ethical, responsible, and disciplined. Not everyone will fall into that. Eventually those people move on - sometimes by force. CSOKI isn't going anywhere. It won't close all of it's 450+ stores because a few reps give your store some customer service issues. It's fair to assume customers that are in your stores come into CSOKI stores from time to time. I know because many people do. In fact, I've heard as many stories about other agents as i'm sure you have about CSOKI.

Everyone can say that about corporate reps or corporate stores jointly. In Florida it's a huge problem that corporate stores churn agents' sales and the AM's usually don't give a ****. In other parts of the country, it's met with big consequences. My point is having that many stores spread out into 17 different states, you will get some bad stories but 99% are good natured, sell with integrity, and care about customers. One day, I will be a regional director with them and open my own group of stores in a city somewhere. I can tell you my goal is to hire and train the right people in the right way. Individually it's up to them to be ethical and sell the right way. If not they're gone.

I used to work for CSOK. They are exactly what everyone here is saying they are. I worked them for them for a few months , but eventually quit because the company is very dishonest. I didnt fit their business model because I didnt want to lie to customers or do the same shady practices as my coworkers. Now the money was great, but not if you pay your taxes right. I work for a different verizon dealer now and they are great. But a new CSOK opened down the road and all the normal problems from them are popping up. saying other stores are "closed", price gouging, etc..They are NOT a good company. The first regional meeting I went to when I was there felt like it was strait out of the movie "boiler room" haha. I hope the Govt finally nails them for tax fraud, because they were obviously cheating the IRS.

Check out the old movie "Glengarry, Glen Ross". Absolute MUST SEE film for anybody who works in any sort of sales, from real estate, to cars, to phones, to whatever. It stars Al Pacino, Jack Lemmon, Kevin Spacey and Alec Baldwin. Absolute classic. And probably not to dissimilar from a CSOKI sales meeting.

Low price, Excellent Service, High Quality. Pick any two, but you never get all three.

LOL! This reminds of the leads that VZW COrps shoves down my throat to close B2B lines. I'm like ***** they are trying to stay afloat as a business and cutting expenses what would make them buy from our B2B line up where its overpriced and not flexible, and does not really optimize the business at all in most cases.

I am unfortunately going to have to call BS on this. Since these jokers have set up shop in town, I've seen
some pretty unethical practices come from there. We have quite a good amount of "snow birds" that go south during the winter months. I have seen the same things happen to them in Florida as I see here in WNY. CSOK reps are flown in to the same place for training. I think they have just brainwashed them into thinking it is OK to add lines without consent and flat out lie to people. To top it off, you can definitely tell these people are trained this way because whenever we call in to CS or COOS on behalf of these customers the reps on the line always say "Was it a Cellular Sales of Knoxville?" or something to that effect. Been an indirect store manager for 7 years, and I have never seen as much unethical behavior in my 8 year total in indirect as I have in the last 6 months.

Wow, what a thread. I am just shy of the final step in getting hired at CSOKI in S Fl. I did a lot of research online before interviewing, including this forum. I must say the company I'm about to work for seems a lot different then the one described here in many of the posts. I'm no spring chicken and I'm not easily fooled, so either they have really put a major effort into cleaning up their act or many of the posts are just sour grapes. I know I am very new, but you can still get the flavor and the culture of a company by the people who work there, so far I have found them to be professional, honest, hard working, service oriented folks. No doubt many are that way because if you are not, you won't make it there. I have heard of top salespeople being let go because of ethics issues and I don't doubt it in the least. It certainly is not for everyone, the interview and training process is very intense, coming from a business telephone background I thought this would be easy... wrong! They want the best and it seems that's what they will get if they continue in the manner I have seen so far. Have I drunk the cool-aide? IDK, but I do know it seems tailor made for me, honest, ethical, highly motivated to make sales and provide excellent service... so far a great place to be!

Just my opinion here but usually when you hear things like "only the best of the best" or "very few make it", unless your talking kickboxing it is usually a ****** place to work at.

That may be, time will tell. It does however seem that if you don't mind making your own way, they don't mind giving you a place to do it.
