    What Can Your Employer See?

    Hello all,

So first of all... I'm not doing anything I shouldn't be nor am I trying to figure a way around the system. I'm more just curious than anything.

So I have a BB with my work, fairly large company, and I have always been curious to know what they can see if they ever felt the need to. With the BES system setup and in place, can they see all my e-mail ( I would assume this and bbm for sure), can they see my bbm conversations, can they see my texts, browsing history etc? Is there a definitive list as to what they do and dont have access to on a work BB?

    Thanks!

    Jay

That's the WRONG answer. If you read the links posted, there are some things that the BES administrator cannot see. That said, it's never a good idea to use an employer device (whether it's a computer or a phone) to do things that you don't want the the employer to see.

It depends on whether you are talking about what your employer can see technically or what your employer can see legally.

Given the right circumstances, your employer can go to court to get the data which their BES administrator can't see.

If you are that worried, the best plan is to get a personal device for personal calls, contacts, texts, email, etc.
