I played with the banter touch last night at my local uscc store. They don't have them for sale yet but have thier dummy. The ui is almost exactly like the bliss. She thought it wouldn't require the data plan like the bliss but wasn't 100% sure. Very nice for a dumb phone, and great for someone who texts a lot.

A dumb phone is just that, a dumb phone, no data required.

It is NOT a premium phone, Internet is NOT required with this phone. However if you were to get the 50 dollar data plan you could then use the included browser. US Cellular as of now will not be doing Premium Phones, as soon as the Premium phones we currently have are sold out, we will be done with them.

    Hi
I have a couple of questions about the banter touch that I am hoping an expert will be able to help with. I almost picked up the original banter back last year but went with the hint instead. I'm not a huge fan of the hint, but really like the dedicated email functions and threaded txting.
    1. Does the touch screen let you txt and dial numbers or do you have to open the keyboard?
    2. Will it have the same user interface in terms of contact grouping/texting options as show in the sprint version reviews?
    3. Comparatively to the Samsung messenger, which phone will offer more features/better overall build?
    4. Does this have a dedicated email function that supports attachements? The easy edge gmail app won't let me pull pics from my hint, but the dedicated email will.

    Thanks!

    1. No you do not have to open the phone to text or call someone. You get T9 (the normal way) of texting on the touch screen but you have to open the phone to be able to use the QWERTY
    2. No this phone will NOT have the interface as the sprint and virgin mobile rumor touch. I have heard this phone will have an interface similar to the lg bliss and tritan. Which both include threaded messaging so the banter touch will too.
    3. Feature wise this phone will probably be about the same but with the addition of texting on the touch screen i would say this phone has more features and also this phone will probably let you listen to music while texting where the messager touch does not. they both have a 3.5 headset jack on the phone so you can use it with any normal earphones (like an ipod) The build quality of this phone will probably be quite terrible (just like every other LG that has came out in the past year) but i beleve it will be a little better than the messager touch but both phones will feel a lot cheaper than your motorola hint.
    4. This phone will do basic email and it may have support for attachments, it is unlikely that this phone will do this because it isnt a smart phone but personally i dont know
