The SoftBank 002SH is not a cycloid, it's a convertible.

Ouch... if Twitter is to be believed, the 003SH will retail at 85,920yen. Will need to see what the monthly discounts are, but that puts it a good 20,000yen more than the iphone4, and even the AU IS03...
Edit: As an update, the Twitterers were right: 85,920yen. This is probably only useful to those of us in Japan, but, it gets a full 2200 yen monthly discount and they have a new packet plan. Pakehodai max for smartphones, which gives you 870mb for 3985yen, then sliding scale and capped at 5795 if you go over (Going by how much data i used in Australia, most months wouldnt go over the first cap). Add the internet access charge and you get a monthly total of 6660yen. Pretty much right on what the SB salesman said to me last night "Probably just a little bit more than the iphone", which comes up at about 6000yen all up http://mb.softbank.jp/mb/smartphone/...imulation.html
Pakehodai max for smartphone sounds like a great idea. AU/Docomo only have the 6000yen "full browser" packet caps, so that puts SB a good 48,000yen ahead of them over the 2 year contract (provided you dont go tooo crazy on the net)
with cycloid you can no take pics of yourself, the screen that flips outside can be used to take your own pics, (though i never owned one and have used only cycloid keitai)

wow.... that's some crazy expensive phone.... i don't know if i want to afford that lol.... now my question would be.... is the phone really worth $1100 CND
About being big, a guy in my class was saying how thin his iPhone 4 is compared to my SH-07B. I told him being more than twice the resolution of his and with a better lens he then said that 'my phone can draw pictures on the screen while yours can't'. I flipped the screen around and used the handwriting function with the touch screen. He was left speechless.
well you can just show off the 1080p HD recording over his 720p....

With the 2200yen monthly discount, it works out to be 52,800 savings over a 2yr contract... The phone will only cost 33,120 in the end.
After using it in the shop a second time i have come to the conclusion that i need a physical keyboard. The touchscreen kb is too hard for me to get used to. So i'm waiting for the 005SH in Feb

Nah I just signed up for an is03 in au, and there's a new flatrate smartphone data plan that's 5500 per month or so..
With cycloids, the screen rotates on a horizontal axis, sideways and cannot have the screen and back lens facing you. 9020c/0902c/SH-01A/etc.
The convertibles, like the 002SH/SH-06A/etc. have the screen rotating 180° on a vertical axis so the screen and the lens can be facing the same way. That way you are not stuck with using the crappy CMOS camera in the front.
Got confused with ppl calling phones like 923sh and 933sh both cycloids. Also heard them being called swivel and rotating phones but first time hearing them being called convertibles. I would just call the 923sh type phones the 'T' phones and 933sh phones the phone that fool ppl think it's a real camera.
