    Post your AT&T 4G Speed's :) - America's True Largest HSPA+ network

4G is Active in Birmingham, AL. Waiting for my 4G data card to arrive. Ill call HSPA+ 4G till T-Mobile quit's even though I am well aware that it's NOTHING close to 4G ...

Consistent 5-6mbps on my iP4 all day..

Well since AT&T does have the largest 4G network in the US with over 180 million pop's covered today and over 250 million with HSPA+ by the end of the month. Post your 4G speed's your getting if it's been active in your area.

Yeah Ken…got say, TMobile 4g stuff was really starting to get on our last nerve. What they’re calling 4g is the same HSPA+ technology we have deployed to 180 million people today, more than T-Mobile’s reported 140 million, and we’ll have it rolled out to 250 million people by the end of this month, substantially more than the 200 million T-Mobile says it will have by year-end. So their supposed 4g network isn’t bigger and isn’t faster than what we’ve already got in place as we work toward the roll out of LTE. Nuf said.

It would be nice if both providers quit their bickering and got 3G out to their entire native coverage footprint before they started bickering, moaning, and fighting each other over what 4G is. How pathetic of both AT&T and T-Mobile. Then again it's par for the course of our sorry wireless industry in the USA.

Here is the fastest result i've seen, faster than what the 3GS could ever achieve. I have seen lower latency than that as well. This is in a small market in Indiana.

What we really need is for someone to get that HSPA+ USB dongle and run some tests.

HSPA+ is NOT 4G. LTE is NOT 4G. WiMax is NOT 4G. http://www.pcworld.com/businesscente...t_qualify.html

Nobody has more or less 4G coverage than anyone else, because 4G does not yet exist. So in a way, T-Mobile is correct when it says that it has the "largest 4G network". But it also is correct to say that it has the "smallest 4G network" too.

See my sig for my fastest result. Now I just need an HSPA+ device on AT&T to see what their network is all about...lol

BTW, did anyone notice that more-often-than-not, an HSPA 7.2 device on AT&T seems to get slightly higher DL/UL speeds than an HSPA 7.2 device on T-Mobile? At least, that's what it seems to be like on their respective facebook pages. However, HSPA+ devices on T-Mobile are clearly faster than the non-HSPA+ devices on AT&T (duh).

I'm glad the rest of you are seeing 7.2 speeds. I can barely get faster than 1.5 mbps in Denver. No backhaul upgrades here yet.

my 3Gs usually pulls ~1-2Mbps here in Phoenix, and my G2 is usually 8-10Mbps.. my Bold will usually pull ~3Mbps (pretty much maxes out), while my MyTouch (1st gen) will usually pull ~4Mbps.. honestly 1-2Mbps is plenty on a phone, but the high latency (mine's usually ~500ms) is what kills it for me

^ I've found that the 3GS doesn't do all that great in speed tests compared to the iPhone 4.

my friends with the iPhone 4 here in Phoenix seem to pull about the same as me, so i think the network here is just saturated

RCtennis, where in Dallas are you getting those speeds? I'm having trouble breaking 1Mb/s down and no more than about .01Mb/s up. I'm a little frustrated because I've tried wimax and coverage here is like swiss cheese. Verizon is good, but it's last gen tech. I was hoping AT&T would be so much faster. I've tested this in the fair park area and near richardson and have gotten similar results many times.

VZW LTE! Too bad the data cap is so low... might as well stick with 3G.

I get these speeds all over Dallas. I go to SMU and live in University Park and normally average about 5Mbps for the past couple of weeks now. Before that, I averaged about 3-4Mbps. Many times, I hit about 5.9-5.95Mbps, but have only twice hit over 6Mbps.

I also work in Uptown/Oak Lawn and get those speeds too around McKinney Ave, Cole, Oak Lawn, and more. My parents live up in Collin County and I also get those speeds up there too, more specifically anywhere inside the "beltway" that is 121, 75, DNT, and PGBT. I had Clear for a month at my old apartment in January along Greenville Ave and would average about 5Mbps, but the coverage (at the time) was quite lacking. For work last month, I tested out a T-Mobile HSPA+ data stick and could only get something faster than AT&T in 2 locations after TONS of speed tests. Heck, I dropped to EDGE at my UP apartment and almost everywhere throughout Uptown. T-Mobile only seems to have good 2G coverage in the Metroplex.

^^Did that during a late-night study night at my apartment earlier this week during heavy rain.

^^Did this today during a fairly busy afternoon in Uptown (aka network congestion).

Speeds on my sig. ATT speed is tethered Iphone 4. Tmobile speed test is on Rocket USB modem in a HSPA+ area. I've had several discussions with Tmo tech support on why I don't get HSPA+ speeds even though I live in "4G" market but nothing solved yet.

That can't be AT&T! I know what you did, you jailbroke your iPhone to the max and replaced the radio with a My Touch 4G since T-Mobile is the 4G carrier of the prepaid US because all their tower's are connected to fiber through AT&T UVERSE Max Turbo

Side not: My upload speed's have been getting much higher now that AT&T has deployed HSPA+ here, and latency has shot down when tethered or using my data card.
