I personally don't see the need for 25mb on my cell phone let alone laptop tethered off my cell phone… If i can stream Netflix almost flawlessly from my 3GS over bluetooth at ~1.5Mb, anything faster is really not needed for my taste.
Even when they throttled me to EDGE speeds ~200kb average, i was able to do MOST of my work with ease, the only thing that suffered was Netflix… But for that i tether my work issued phone or my pre-paid evo backup which is unlimited full speed 3G…
Well I just searched Twitter and it looks like AT&T LTE is live throughout most of South Florida! The results are pretty good for a 5x5 LTE network that is probably still being tuned.

Doh. I was in an LTE area today, should have tested the HSPA+ to see if they juiced that up when they put the LTE gear and backhaul in. I'll be there again tomorrow, I can test it out.
I usually support government regulation, but It is unfortunate that the government over-regulated and killed the AT&T/ T-Mobile Merger
The best explanation of the pricing nutiness in the industry.
Why Sprint and T-Mo will always suck.
The only way to end the pricing insanity is to eliminate contracts and subsidies.
I want Wifi calling on AT&T.
If you text while driving, you're an idiot. End of story.

I was in an LTE area this past weekend too down in Indy but I didn't have much time to mess around with network stuff as I was too busy cycling and turf wars lol. I did see that they are running 2 HSPA carriers on 850 though lol.

Went straight to that speed, stopped and held there the entire test ....
    iPhone 4S on AT$T: Unlimited Talk, Text & Web w/NO throttling….
iPhone 4 on Boost Mobile: Talk, text, MMS & 3G Data .. since 6.11.12

If you can't see that todays society has gone to sh*t, then you ARE the problem or PART of the problem…

That's weird. I get that on my 4; I'd expect something higher from a 4S. Then again, it's starting to look like the 4S is the problem. It could be that non-iPhone APNs just work better in Orlando or HSPA+ 21 phones working better.

Have you tried using a different site? I know that here, the LA sites have better ping, but lower throughput. San Luis Obispo and Monterey Park typically do better.

Ditto on that. The nearest Orlando servers, Cocoa & the 2 Tampa ones, are terrible on both my phone and my MBP. I generally use the Jacksonville one hosted by Comcast because it's always the most consistent on all my devices.

Funny... over here its Charter (Charter SLO and Charter Monterey Park) even though its ping is high (200ms) , while Internode, Dreamcast, Emerging Communications, etc. all with lower ping (100ms)

I can do a test on a local server 9 miles away here in Eastern Kentucky and get a consistent ping of 120-130 with high download speeds. I can then switch to an Atlanta Server hosted by Comcast and get ping test in the 80-90 range (on regular non enhanced backhaul HSPA) but slower download speeds. It's odd.

Seriously, try the Jacksonville server, or even the Miami ones (Comcast and Towerstream).

Cocoa (FL High Speed): High pings...as always

Tampa (Rapid Systems): High pings...as always

    Jacksonville (Comcast): Lower pings

    Miami (Comcast): Lower pings

While these are on my MBP, the same always applies to every phone I've tried in the area.
