I would say between those 2 choice to go for the Droid Pro. I don't know if the Pre 2 is gonna cut it for most people. Unless it's like the original where you can actually cut something with it. lol
Haha yep, that's me. I just love webOS and I love the form factor of the Pre 2. I'm having a tough time deciding. Especially after you've mentioned that the Droid Pro was having a bit of lag issues.

Our friend Hoppy here says he hasn't come across any lag issues yet. Maybe it's my device or maybe it'll improve with use. I don't know, but I'll try to make a video of it later tonight when I'm home and post it.

I'm probably going to go ahead and order the Droid Pro tonight. I have 30 days to bring it back anyways, and the Pre 2 should be out by then. And if I'm not liking the Pro, I'll just get the Pre 2 instead.

You do have 30 days, but don't forgot you also have to pay a $35 restocking fee.

There's always a way around the $35 restocking fee. =)

I didn't realize the screen sizes were so similar. Now I want it even more!

Maybe I'm not setting it up properly or something but the setup for HTC Mail was very straightforward.
Did you set up your hotmail as an Exchange account?

I've got the $35 restocking fee waived twice. Just made a big deal about it, how I'm a long time customer and the phone just really is not for me.

I didn't even have to do that. I asked if there was going to be a restocking fee and the rep just told me, "Nope, I will enter it in the system in a way that avoids it."

    My Droid Pro arrived today and I've got it up and running well. I have approx 95% of my applications reloaded and everything is working fine. I don't have time to post photos, but you already know what it looks like, so I'll share some thoughts below. I am coming from a Droid X, which I really like - but I need to decide if the Pro is a better device for me, if so the DX will get assigned to one of my team members. Here are some thoughts, in no particular order;

    * The size is nice, feels similar to but better than the HTC Incredible. I don't care for the shiny, slippery, fingerprint-prone back cover. Let's hope Seidio gets an extended battery out quick, with a matte finish back cover.

    * I am not a big fan of chrome, so the chrome border around the phone would have been better in black, IMHO. That said, it does have a real quality appearance and holding it gives one the impression of a quality device.

    * The configurable key on the right side is nice - I use mine for opening the dialer.

    * The keyboard is FANTASTIC!!! Reminds me of the best of my BB 9700 and the Motorola Q9, which was a crappy phone but had a great keyboard IMO.

    * The area around the micro-USB port lights up when the keyboard is lit and also appears to light while charging. Only a slight glow, but a nice touch.

    * I haven't tested the camera yet, so no comments there.

    * The screen is nice, but seems pretty small, coming from a Droid X - but hey, what phone wouldn't!?! The screen response and clarity is very good.

    * I'm using Launcher Pro Plus, with five items across and four rows high. This is about all that fits on this size screen. LPP is working well and I'm happy with that.

    * The touch-sensitive buttons on the bottom of the screen are responsive and, while not as nice as the Droid X hardware buttons, work well.

    * From what I can tell, the Pro does not appear to have the noise canceling microphone feature that the Droid X has.

    * You can set shortcuts on the keyboard to open applications. I do not see an option to set Blackberry type speed dials on the keyboard, not yet at least.

That's all I've got for now, but I hope it helps. I think the Pro is a great device from first impressions, but I'm not sure I can divorce my Droid X yet :-)
Thanks for your observations. Please let us know if you find any type of speed dial for making calls. If there's not, that's a pretty huge f'ing FAIL on Moto's part.

The cutout is cause it was going to have the track pad on the rear like the citrus.
the us bands wont work, that is why your sim isn't getting any signal.you can't get signal if there is no antenna tuned to us bands in the phone.I'm positive I can fix that for your though.

Yea, I had the same problem originally getting the Storm 1 to work with AT&T. I had to load the radios for it.

Yay! My Droid Pro is on the truck to be delivered.

I'm a little surprised and shock on dead this forum is for the Droid Pro. I would think there would be a lot of people purchasing it and trying to get it early.

Please share exactly what you said. I've spent a few hundred dollars in restocking fees this year and I'd really like to avoid that.

No, not exchange. Just set up through the Email app that came with the phone. I'm assuming it's the same one on the Droid?
