Post How to Update Blackberry Curve 8330 Verizon With OS Version 5.0

I used this method to upgrade only Blackberry Curve 8330 on verizon phones (8330m from sprint do not work).

1.- Download and install Blackberry Desktop Manager.

2.- Download and install the firmware for Blackberry 8330 Verizon (Ver 4.1.5.0.175) from here:
    http://vzw.smithmicro.com/blackberry...px?ct=personal

3.- Download and install the firmware for Blackberry 8330 BoostMobile (Ver 5.0.0.724)
    https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/browseSoftware.do

4.- Download and install Blackberry Swiss Army Knife 1.7 (BBSAK 1.7)
    http://www.technospot.net/blogs/down...ss-army-knife/

5.- Backup all the data that you want to keep safe with Blackberry Desktop Manager.

6.- Open BBSAK and press Wipe Device, This leve you phone with out OS and after reboot will show a error on a withe screen, is normal. (This delete everything in the phone) Do not Close BBSAK yet!

7.- On BBSAK press Load OS and Blackberry Loader will show up and just follow the instruction, the program automatically will install the OS 5.0 and the setting for the Verizon. (you can selecct all the application that you want in the phone, like languaje, Document to go and other).

8.- When the phone reboot it take like 5 to 6 minutes, looks like is freezes but ir normal just wait and it is all, after all this you phone will run OS Ver 5.

The OS Core is automatically update from the Boost firmware and the phone keeps the original configuration from verizon.

I think you've made this more difficult than you needed to.

Well if you considering that Verizon do not released the OS Version 5 for Blackberry 8330 this is one way to get it. And this way you don't need to look for files to delete, BBSAK do this for you.

How much free memory will be left on the 8330 after loading 5.0? That would be my major concern. There isn't much memory on there to start with, and this seems unnecessary.

Yeah I don't think I'd want to run OS 5 on an 8330 because of the lack of memory after the install.
