It's mentioned in the TOS that Boost will automatically take the money from the Auto-Reboost, even if there are funds in the account.

Problem is, you'll never be able to combine them. 2 dollar credit goes away in 2011. Should be 3-4 months into 2011 before your first shrinkage discount. I got screwed a little bit on auto reboost. I have about $65 dollars credit on my account and I didn't leave enough money in my debit account on purpose thinking Boost would use that credit. Instead they charged it to my account and I suffered an "overdraft". Lesson learned. Unless you turn off auto reboost, they won't take it from your credit.

Both payments that should have come out automatically with my auto-reboost, since signing up for Shrinkage, have failed. I had zero problems with it before I signed up for the Shrinkage plan. I get text messages from Boost telling me there is a problem with the auto-reboost. I called and spent about a half hour talking to four people before getting it resolved. They made sure I'm still on my way for my bill to shrink when I was expecting it to, but wow, what a hassle! Seems a little suspicious to me that my payments would be late without manual intervention since signing up for the Shrinkage plan, and I really hate to think like that.
Has anybody else had an issue with this?
I merged the shrinkage questions, please keep all shrinkage discussion, questions, and the like in this thread.

Yep we should be getting our first discount in March![]()
I signed up for auto reboost with shrinkage and got a message from boost saying that i didn't add enough funds to my account. The next day i got a message saying thanks for paying with autoreboost.
I am looking at my Boost Mobile Shrinkage brochure and it sounds like I get unlimited IM included in the plan. When I go to use IM it says 99cents per day per messaging service???
I notice that when i would reactivate a dormant Boost phone or activate a brand new Boost phone i would get a message saying my account balance is too low to activate service. I'm thinking that might be a standard message they send out. If you choose the Monthly Unlimited W/ Shrinkage, for example your very first payment for the first month will be $50. But lets say you activate the phone but don't add money during the activation process. Then expect to receive a message via text and possibly email, if you gave them your address, that you don't have a positive balance to cover your plan. This is normal.
And if you sign up for Auto-Refill, as deathtrip said, they WILL withdraw your total monthly plan amount plus taxes and/or fees, every month regardless how much is in your account.
You have two choices. Choice 1: Download and use the IM & Email App for your phone and watch your account to see if you get charged. If/When you do, call Boost and tell them about the charges and ask to get them removed.
Choice 2: Call Boost before you download and use the IM & Email App and verify with THEM if it's unlimited (free) for you to use.
If your unsure if you have the right app installed on your phone, it's best to delete/uninstall/remove it from your phone. Then launch your web browser on your PHONE and search for IM & Email App. The one you see will be the one designed to work for your phone. If you have a Sprint or other non-Boost Mobile branded phone, then use another app.
So I have my doubts about this but is it possible to get the reduced shrinkage rate if you have been on Auto-Reboost for a long period of time if you have been on the "pay as you go" plan when you upgrade to the unlimited plan? or do you have to start from the beginning requiring a full 18 payments to be made until you get to $35 month?
^ Speeds under perfect tower(average is 300-800k).
It's not retroactive in any way...you need to be on the "Monthly Unlimited w/ Shrinkage" plan![]()

Darn i thought so. The only reason i asked is I'm starting to find my self texting more after having my BB for awhile :lol
What happens if I switch to a Blackberry and then later switch back to a non blackberry phone later on down the road? Lets say I switch to a non-blackberry phone 18 months later... Will I have to stay at the $45 level or will it bump down to $35 automatically?
Hi,
I had some first hand experience with this, and it wasn't pleasant. I was on the $50 dollar shrinkage the day it started made a couple on time payments, then made the mistake of trying the blackberry out for a month. I switched back after only a month, and was told that my shrinkage schedule would be right on target. Well, take a guess how that worked out? The next payment I made it said congrats on your first on time payment( that should of been my 4th on time) when I called to explain they said sorry too bad, the computer shows that you made your first ontime, and they can't change that.
So hopefully other learn from my experience, they may tell you one thing, but if you change to a blackberry plan, or vice versa be prepared to start either program over again, because all they see in the computer is that you just switched to that plan. So unless something changes, that is an unfortunate flaw in the system. Hope that helps.![]()
