Wow, so the phone is really unlockable? That definitely would be a deterrent to switching back to Wind.

ohhh, I feel sorry for the guy in the States that I sold my 5230 to on eBay. Although I did post it as locked to Mobilicity, so guess finding a place to unlock it is all on him now :P
I cracked & signed up with Telus. I couldnt resist the Free Phone, $300 airtime credit, and EPP ($20+tax : 350mins, unlimited early evngs /wknds, cd, vm, unlimited NA txts, NO SAFS or 911) With the $300 credit its like having a free year of phone service.

Am I allowed to post instructions here or do you want a pm?

Edit: press *#0000# and tell me the line begining with RM-xxx where xxx is a number.

Yours should be RM-588 or RM-593. Also tell me the version there.. it looks like "v.12.8.085" or something like that

I was actually planning to buy one and then unlock it, but it seemed that there was no way to unlock it (no one has the unlock codes). So your saying there is a way? You can PM me if you like.

    Thanks.

yes i am saying there is a way to unlock it. but this method is not easy. You will re-flash the phone with a nokia C6 firmware. However - it is a better firmware (c6) so it gives a new life to your phone.

I will pm you with details

P.S. Nokia phones are a nightmare to use - if possiible use an android

    Look at http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f470...b5-sl3-789201/

Somehow they are able to do it :S. They are also looking for partners in canada Jokes apart ... Nokia is a piece of **** - and you dont need to see anything more than the email client and the web browser on any nokia phone to see that. If possible go for android.
