have an old Verizon Motorola VU204 flip-phone with broken screen, no service. the phone turns on and is detected by Windows, and the Motorola drivers installed fine. I used a tool earlier this year which was able to read the address book, so I know data is still accessible. Now I want to extract the SMS data and download it to the computer, anything out there (preferrably free) that will do this?
was able to read the address book again using Bitpim and the 710m phone profile, but SMS remains unreadable. read some stuff online about this phone and Verizon crippling the firmware so it might be that this feature is disabled/unuseable with this phone anyway, given up on messing with it.
