Will My Daughter Have Difficulties With A Samsung Captivate On A Mac?

Partly because I can get a Captivate for .01 through Amazon.com, I am thinking of getting my 16 year old daughter one for her birthday. However, we are virtually all mac, including Apple computers and Apple TV.

What difficulties will she/I encounter? Updates? Syncing? Music files? Android on Mac?

While I have an iPhone 4, my previous phone was a Nokia n95, and I had to make lots of work-arounds. Will the Captivate require the same? How compatible is it?

I would appreciate your help. Thank you!

well I sync my music using iSyncr WIFI (wireless), i am not sure if mac version for WIFI is there, but USB she can sync no problem with iTunes. everything else happens over the air (sync with google calendar, google contacts etc). i tell you something though i was an iPhone user for almost 3 years, Android is AMAZING having said that iPhone is Simple, u cant really break it, because it gives u very limited options, android gives u ALL options and i think its more intended for the pros. i am not sure if your 16 year old will find it as interesting as i did !

btw Drop Apple, save money, live better ! PC > Mac.

Thanks for your help, pooya. Simplicity, reliability, and ease of use (compatibility) go really far to the benefits of technology. There's no way my daughter will value having to dig very far into the guts of Android (let alone a PC). Some people like all that and think it's a benefit (open system), while others see it as a never-ending hassle and think it's a negative. They're the ones who just want it to work and work well. In the end that saves them headaches and money because they're free to do other things they'd prefer.

    Thanks again.
