LCD broken off V9,can I recover contacts?

At the title says, I have a V9 Razr & the LCD has been broken off.
The phone still lights up, & I hooked up Motorolla Phone Tools v5, & managed to recover the pictures, videos, audio, and even the inbox for the SMS messages. But when I try to access, save, backup, the contacts I get the message "reading mobile phone's contacts failed".
I've also found that I'm unable to access the phones Calendar. Though I have no need to access it.
Can anyone offer a suggestion on how I might recover the phone numbers?

Thanks for looking.. I finally managed to get the data.
I pulled the battery, then reinstalled it & started the phone again, and after 3 or 4 tries it found the contacts list!
