I just called at 5:45pm pst and I was told there is no such plans. She also wouldn't offer me anything else other than plans on the market (on telus website). I've been with Telus since 2004.

Yeah I don't understand their rationale either.Originally Posted by joop88

Politely tell her she is wrong and to read her memos from November 30th. Not wanting to give you the plans is one thing, but denying their existence is an unacceptable excuse.Originally Posted by Vi8p8eR

^I don't get why the reps even bother lying to clients about the plans not existing. If they don't qualify, tell them. If they are calling asking for the plan specifically, they obviously know for a fact the plans exist.
My New Rogers Plan
- $35 Unlimited Local Calling Plan
- $30 6GB Data
- $10 Retention Value Pack - Free (2500 texts, CID, VM)
- 100 mins LD - Free
- $67 + tax
Bite me Telus.
I was able to call in and change from my BB65 plan to a voice 35 with the 6gb loyalty data. So my plan stayed exactly the same price and I just got 5 more GB to play with every month! She also kept all my goodies intact including bonus min, telus to telus, caller id and voicemail3. I've been with Telus since 2001. I think people should start posting how long they have been with telus, where the call center was located and whether you talked to a male or female. I personally find the females much easier to deal with and have always had better luck negotiating with them.
when I call today the rep seems really surprise and told me that the 20$/1gb plan doesn't exist, told me everything that I have for free (like I didn't know what I have) and that I'll have to show her where on the telus website that I can see the data plan so she can add it...
Can a rep flag my account or put note so anybody can give me special stuff... because since I spoke to one rep in the past it's hard to have what I want... so maybe because he put a note or something in my account or something...
also I have the HTC Desire and I sign my contract before the min 50$ voice/date requirement, he's there a way that the rep can see that the 50$ wasn't require???
1. Only L&R has access to those special options. Other departments are not allowed to offer or even mention them. I'm not sure what happened in your case and not sure what department you spoke to, but even in L&R, they aren't obligated to give it to clients just because they know it exists. Her saying it doesn't exist is a little odd. If you spoke with Client Care that would make sense, as they are not always told of L&R's special stuff.
2. Yes. They check a special tool and it shows how you redeemed the offer to get that phone -- if it says "acquisition pricing", it means no data requirement. If it says "promo pricing", it means it requires the 12 month data lock-in.
does any one know till how long this offer runs ?
I directly call the L&R... maybe she really doesn't heard about the data plan... but the way she was surprise I don't think so.
I did it. Got my 6 gigs of data for $30, no contact extension, no other changes to my plan. And got my new Torch up and running. WooooHoooo. Definitely glad I waited to switch to the new network.
Guess I need to hold an official retirement ceremony for my Storm, the little guy has definitely been a key part of my life for the past 2 years.
Called L&R directly today. The guy was super nice but we didn't really get anywhere. I have the 25 dollar/month plan that includes the SAF, I also have a bunch of loyalty freebies included - VM/callerID etc.. He said there was no way to add data to the plan. All of the newer plans he suggested offer me less for more money. All I really wanted to do was add the 6 gigs for 30 dollars to my plan.
Been with Telus for 18 years, I doubt that will continue when my contract expires in a year.
After 18 years with only Motorola devices I now have an iPhone. Someone at Motorola dropped the ball...
I was offered the $50 local calling AND was able to keep all of my features that includes Corp National Calling(LD CAN-CAN Can-USA), unlimited messaging, Unlimited data (CDMA) total bill would come to $97.70 + tax.
This point last year, this would be amazing. Now with Wind and Mobilicity offering $40 for unlimited everything, not so hot.
Cheers
I changed over from the Student 55 to the Talk and Messaging $35 + $30 6GB Data.
ie I pay $10 more for 5GB more data.
I now pay $70 and have pretty much all the calling I want... the sad thing is that a month ago I was paying $35 for the same thing on CDMA![]()
Negotiated a deal today... the rep acknowledged the 6gb for $30 existed, but was very reluctant and wouldn't give it to me with Talk 25 (300 mins). So I settled for the 1gb for $20 with Talk 30 (350 mins).

We need someone to post this in the TELUS lunch room:
