This is the phone I have been waiting for.Has a 4" screen but virtually no bezel/waisted space around the screen.(so you still get a compact form factor), Tegra 2 dual-core processor, beautiful Motorola design, dual cameras, Super thin, Just Wow!!! It's pretty much how I pictured my perfect phone. This thing is going to be so awesome!!!!!

Seems like it is cool to have these in your sig?
Me I say maybe if you are lucky you will be able to get one in August 2011.
The chances are zero seeing in Canada, I would guess.
And I think it has Motoblur, so you may need to wait until December 2011 to get Android 2.3
Well the rumor is its supposed to be due dec-jan time frame on at&t. Who knows the verizon high end droids have motoblur but still receive timely updates. 2.3 isn't even out yet on any phone anyway.
I'm so hoping this isnt a Verizon exclusive again. This pic right here gives me hope it will come to at&t afterall!! See the at&t wifi hotspot app....

Wow good eye! Looks like I wont be switching carriers anytime soon. Been tempted by a few things but I'm not going anywhere now.
On a side note I do see one weak point I noticed the picture of the back looks kinda uninspired once I finally saw the pic. Looking at the front I was picturing one of moto's awesome designs for the back of the phone I am hoping this is maybe a prototype with an unfinshed back, everything else on the phone looks absolutely perfect.

Motorola is not supporting the xt720 with the promised flash & Froyo 2.2 upgrades. The faults in the phone are directly caused by firmware that was not properly vetted before release, now Moto is burying its head in the sand like an ostritch. After buying this paperweight & finding out Moto will not correct the flaws I would avoid Motorola phones at all costs
You sound like a Moto cheerleader & your avatar seems to confirm this. A phone that was promised flash & Froyo that freezes on the black screen during calls (requiring battery pulls), has a camera that lags & doesn't deliver its touted picture quality & is underclocked to increase its pathetic battery life is a paperweight to me.
Don't fall for the hype people, go to Moto forums 1st & never buy one of their phones on hype. They do not support their phones no matter how much they cost. Once you have bought it you may be left holding the bag. From what I have read, anyone who bought this paperweight will never buy another Motorola product again. This phone is a style evolution of the xt720 & may contain some of the same components so caveat emptor.
GO TROLL ELSEWHERE!!
Bro I've owned the XT720(2 of them) and didnt have the problems you mentioned. The camera quality could be better but the US version was never underclocked and the other versions received the update that restored the original processing power. You go read the Moto forum. Everyone is mad because not all XT720 will get froyo. It is nonsense that Motorola wont "support their phones no matter how much they cost", example...The droid, droid 2 and Droid X are always kept on the latest software.
This thread is to discuss this upcoming phone. Not whether or not to buy Motorola products.

Will this phone be released? Will it be dual core? Will it's battery life be better because of dual core efficiency or worse than average?
Will it ship with Android 2.3 or 2.2??
Not much discussion going on here about this phone. Figure if it DOES drop on AT&T it should be a very popular choice, especially with some of the following specs:
1. 4.0" - 4.3" Display with a higher resolution than 480 x 854 (Possibly 720 x 1280)
2. Dual Core 1.2Ghz Processor
3. Android 2.3
4. Possible IPS or Super AMOLED Display
5. Front facing camera.
6. HDMI Out.

Will ship with 2.2 (Google has delayed 2.3 too much to make launch).
Definitely not a AMOLED display. Motorola hasn't found an AMOLED display that meets their quality standards.
The display is nice though, think half 1080p.
Don't find the LG Star thread; just saw this video run thru on Engadget. I was amazed.

To me this is my front runner there is no real HTC SUPERphone slated for at&t anytime soon so motorola might get my money. iPhone4 is gonna go bye bye
